Exacty - and very easy to make up as an excuse if a boxer loses. Of cause you can assume Kosta was not at his peak, he was not, but there is little hard evidence to suggested how far past it he was. He was still destroying opponents.
You put that fight anywhere but the UK and remember what the ref did in the PBF v Hatton fight. You would see the same result. And to say Tszyu would get beat even in his Prime Please. Yes he laid out Mitchell at 35 years old but but after 2 years off after two major opp's. Hatton had everything go right at that fight to win. Some say the fight was still close when Tszyu's corner stopped it. Some say what the **** with all the dirty tactics by Hatton. If you watch footage of a 1999 Peak Tszyu against Hurtado and against Gonzalez. Tszyu would do the same as what PBF did to Hatton. And if you say age didnt play a factor in England at 2 am in the moring with a UK Ref. ****ing Please. All those things went wrong yet Tszyu never complained he took his loss and his last fight. Tszyu never fought again and he lost to Hatton. He didnt so much end on top of his game but i would hardly call a 36 year old Tszyu Prime. For me his Prime was 1999. when he was 30 years old. Hatton with those tactics wouldnt be able to use them in the USA or Australia. Actually to put it into perspective. What chance would you give a 36 Year old Hatton against a 29 Year Old Tszyu in Melbourne at the Telstra Dome. Thats what Tszyu went up against. He is far superior. Hatton just got him at the right time.
Ive heard from Tszyu's team that they think he was never the same after the two years off. He was just well prepared for Mitchell and his 8-0 record against southpaws helped. They said after shoulder reconstruction he didnt have the same Power. Im only telling you because i have more of a idea than you would. Being part of the Tszyucrew.
bingo, kostya is a big puncher, so he has that power to get early KO's. It just happened that he got a KO earlier than before, that doesnt mean he is a better fighter. Its like saying Trinidad is a better fighter than Hopkins because Trinidad stopped Joppy and Hopkins didnt. Kostya took out him early but its hard to gage what he had from that since he was able to bomb him out. Credit is due to hattons wrestling strategy that kept him from gettng on the full end of kostyas shots and smothering him. But would that work as well on a younger tszyu? maybe not
Well we say it didnt work out of the UK either. PBF fight was a clear indication of that. So having said that on nuetural ground Hatton's tactics would lose him points.
yeah 36 is old for most fighters. Wait until hatton is 36 and getting beat by guys that wouldnt have a chance at beating him now and see if Jonoli still feels the same about 36 years old being prime
I didnt see the difference between a prime Tyszu and the one who fought Hatton....apart from his inactivity what makes you think he was past it? He looked good against Mitchell before the Hatton fight.
Hatton was bitching floyd was too rough little pretty boy floyd, the guy they thought hatton would take out in a few rounds was holding too much and using rough house tactics:rofl please. Its all cool hatton does his WWF impressions over there but the minute he gets an elbow when he tries to wrestle floyd all of a sudden it isnt fair:|
That was 7 months earlier against a fighter that he already fought. Aswell against a Southpaw which i dont know if you know but Tszyu's all time record against Southpaws is (8-0 8 KO's). Your telling me you never seen any difference between that Tszyu in 05 at 36 years old. and the Tszyu in 99 at 30 years old. please. Hatton beat Paul Malginaggi now people are talking up about how great Hatton is. Is anybody seen the 140 division. Hatton has ruled 140 for 4 years not even that where Tszyu ruled 140 for 10 years when the 140 division was at its best. Soon they will be telling us that Hatton would beat Chavez,Pryor **** why not Hearns. Tszyu was 36 years old his last Pro fight. Lets see how Hatton goes at 36 years old in say Las Vegas against say the new up and comer thats undefeated and 28 years old. This is joke right this thread. 36 year old Tszyu or Prime Tszyu the one that boxed one of the toughest SOB's weve seen and is the only man to stop him in Gonzalez. Not even Dela Hoya could bring Gonzalez unstuck. That was Prime Tszyu.
Where did I say he was in his prime, nowhere have I stated that. On the age thing it is often down to the individual boxer, Tyson peaked in his early 20s, Hopkins around 37. As I have stated: Tszue - he was not losing fights, and he was still demolishing opponents when he ran into Hatton.
Thats it. Can you imagine if Cortez reffed the fight in Manchester. Ricky would have lost points for the low blow and for hitting behind the head all night. Hatton was bitching like a girl after the fight against PBF. Tszyu got worse treatment than Hatton did in Manchester, yet did you here Tszyu complain once. NO. ****ing unreal Hatton and he has only ruled the poorest 140 division for 3 years close to 4 years. Tszyu ruled the best 140 division era ever seen for 10 years solid. Its a ****ing joke he gets a good win against Paulie who for me would be about as good as say Ahmed Santos on Tszy's resume. Yet here we go again there talking about how great Hatton is.
Word: Tszyu copped a rough deal in that fight and gave one of the classiest post fight speeches I've ever heard. Money Mayweather my have the skills and the KO victory over Hatton, but he's not in Tszyu's class in that regard. Neither was Hatton for that matter post Floyd drubbing.
