even the old Tszyu wins that fight on neutral ground.

Even PBF said "I'll fight Hatton but not in England" after he saw Hatton vs Tszyu

what would it have achieved? Lewis would have said... Oh, OK.. you can go back out there...
KT has too much respect for Lewis to argue with him about it.. He isnt that type of person...

I bet he wouldnt.... and i am not getting roped into a pissing contest over the reasons why.

Ricky is a good hard heart led fighter and i hate that people bag him. He was not the best Tszyu fought

Tyszu wasn't even that far from his prime, so i really don't see a big difference in the outcome. MAYBE, the fight is more competitive but i see the same result, simply because Koysta always ran into problems with fighters that could absorb his power and stay in his chest, because the same thing happened when he fought Vince Phillips.

I cannot understand how anyone can compare the Tszyu that fought Hatton to anyone close to his prime. I would generously say he was about 70% of his best.

    No he was not shot

He had a great number of winning tools available too him. He was not close to prime.

Australians & brits shouldn't discuss Tszyu-Hatton. It's embarrassing to read.

why - Tszyu is russian

I really like Hatton so i dont see that i am more biased one way or the other.

Some others have suggested some outlandish things, My only comments are -

Tszyu was below prime when he fought Hatton.

Hatton is not the best he has fought

I think there should be options for decisions. A stoppage isn't guaranteed.

Tszyu likes space for his accurate shots. Tszyu was good at dictating the pace of the fight, he boxed well behind the jab. Hatton had the right game plan to maul him and not allow him space for extension on his shots, especially that right hand.

Hatton would never be an easy fight for Tszyu. But the Tszyu of the late 90s/early 00s was quicker, fresher, more accurate. He was able to land some nice shots on Hatton when they did fight, but not enough of them. I think a younger Tszyu would land enough of them to score a late-rounds stoppage. I'll say Tszyu stops Hatton in the 10th, after winning 6 of the previous 9 rounds.

Huh? So Hatton stops a younger prime Tszyu earlier than the old version???

Ok so maybe dont tell my boss but i have just watched the whole fight again whilst at work...good times.

Hatton ++ for aggression and taking the fight to Tszyu. On more than one occasion threw consecutive punches (and more) whilst deiliberately holding Kostya on the back of the head. Naughty Naughty

Low blow from Tszyu is smack on the beltline which is actually covering Hattons belly button (notice no jokes about Hattons belly:lol: ). If Hatton felt he was getting done low, he may have been at other times but the one he dropped from was not low. Round 7....30 seconds to go.

The Hatton low blow was beyond contesting deliberate. He may have felt aggrieved from what he thought he was getting. I agree it is no tickling contest but it gave him a significant advantage.

Hatton was significantly fresher than Tszyu rounds 8 through 11.

Hatton is a beast at mauling this guy does not stop coming. Should definitely stay at 140 and do more of this.

Hatton must have a beard on him. I know he got knocked out by Mayweather but Tszyu caught him plenty....PLENTY. He was just prepared to keep coming.

Tszyu had moments where the timing was great. He caught Hatton on the way in and way out. Then he had times where i was thinking - what the hell is he swinging at. No this is not an attempt to sell Tszyu as shot. Hatton just didnt let him breathe and as a result Tszyu had trouble keeping the radar calibrated so to speak.

I honestly believe as a fighter that Ricky Hatton is a tough SOB. He is just relentless.

The full fight video confirms my belief that Tszyu in his prime would have handled Ricky differently. Prime for prime Tszyu wins 7 out of 10 for me.

I hope Ricky gets ODLH to come down to 140. Is it that much to ask for that Ricky mauls another legend?
