We all saw how FAT is Hatton after the PAC fight and JMM's last fight is at 144 lbs. catchweight so... I think the Hatton vs. Marquez fight will be at a catchweight of 144 lbs. ... At this weight, I pick Fat Hatton by KO/TKO...

Anyway Hatton is the draw here and the fight most probably be held in Hatton's hometown in Manchester, England... JMM will not complain if ask to fight at 144 lbs... Heck JMM won't even complain if Hatton weighs in at 147 lbs...

JMM above 140 isn't the same JMM below 140. Hatton would be able to bully and over power JMM who lost speed and power in the move up in weight.

I agree that just b/c JMM got owned in his last fight doesn't mean much b/c it is what it is. He was facing a younger, faster, more talented and far larger man. How Floyd won was very impressive but things have to be view in perspective.

Floyd at 147 is levels above JMM especially JMM at 36. Floyd would probably win at any weight but not in the fashion we witnessed last month.

JMM is past it too....as seen in his competitive fights agsint Casa and Diaz when JMM should have and would have easily taken care of both in his prime.

Hatton has a good chin...it's just PAC has got power and landed a perfectly placed punch. Anyone would have gone down and out with a punch like that.

There is no doubt JMM is the far better fighter than Ricky....JMM is a far better fighter than Cotto as well. But JMM is not the same fighter he was 2 yrs ago and definitely not the same fighter he was below 140. Some just can't move up that much and still have the same kind of speed, reflexes or power.

Floyd isn't overrated. He's a great boxer and he's proven in with how he performs in the ring.

I can't see JMM being successful at 140 or anything above...plush he's on the slide. So Hatton IMHO will be able to out muscle and out hussle JMM.

For me it looked like JMM was "Pushing" his punches. He lost snap and pop on his shots in his fight with Floyd. Floyd is quick, but JMM is not slow.....or wasn't slow in the lower weight classes. He just wasn't ever the kind of speed of a Floyd or a PAC. Hatton's stamina is very good...so is JMM. The skills are vastly seperated between the two but the size and power in my honest opinion would be the deciding factor especially since JMM isn't a natrual Jr WW.

I like Ricky but Marquez is too good and too clever for him and would KO/TKO Ricky in a one sided beat down that would last maybe 4 or 5 rounds.

If Hatton has such a great chin, why is he being rocked to his heels in just about every fight of his since the Collazo fight???

.....Marquez has gotten into the habit of getting dropped, but its alot different getting dropped but still having your legs and marbles under you, than what Hatton has gone through with getting nailed and having to fight the round on unsteady legs and on ***** street.

....Marquez though getting dropped has'nt been put through the avenues of ***** street, Hatton has been put there many times......I say the fighter that passes through those ***** street avenues is the one who's chin should be questioned.

Point blank, Hatton's chin is not good. He cant take a solid shot without his legs turning to goo......that much is plain to see.

Look at who he is fighting. He got KO'd by Floyd who landed a perfectly placed Hook, on the button and the same thing happened when he faced PAC. Those were punches that would have put anyone at that weight or a weight class above on their ass if not put to sleep.

I disagree....Hatton has a good chin...he's ate plenty of good shots that were not PERFECT and remained steady. Hatton has faced the best and very FAST fighters. Speed, velocity equates to power and when you have ACCURATE punchers like Floyd and PAC it's a matter of time before they find the mark and end it.

Marquez might be on the slide, he is getting older.....but believe me......there's still plenty in the tank there for Marquez to deal with the likes of Hatton.

.....many are making the mistake by judging Marquez chances at 140 lbs based on his showing against an unnatural freakishly quick and fast defensive specialist in Floyd Mayweather......
I've said this for a long time about Mayweather.....if he had the guts to fight the likes of the best in his weight class.....Margarito, Williams, Cotto, Mosely.....had he had the guts to have fought them these past years instead of retiring......he'd have had a realistic chance to be labeled as the greatest fighter of all-time.

I'm a huge JC Chavez fight, my opinion of him is that he's the the best and more complete fighter I've witnessed in my nearly 30 years of watching the sport......and I've said a few times in this forum that based on what I was seeing and the skillset that Mayweather possesed, Mayweather from my view could surpass Chavez in my eyes if he took on and beat all-comers.
Personally I'd give Mayweather a better chance at beating Chavez at 140 lbs and below than any other fighter I've ever seen.

Just making a point of what I think of Mayweather's caliber.......and equating it with why we should'nt judge where Marquez is at or what he could do at 140 lbs against the fighters there now, based on his showing at 147 lbs against one of boxing's very best in history.

.....never mind that Mayweather happens to currently be boxing's P4P today......in Mayweather, we're talking about a fighter that has a shot against any Welter in the history of the sport.
