I agree. Prime for prime Hatton is too big and vicious at this weight. Pacquiao came up and did well but Marquez couldnt manage it. People like to bring up all Hatton's bad performances in hypothetical match-ups involving him but forget how good he was against Tszyu, Castillo and Malignaggi. The problem is how much does he have left? Im undecided on a result so this is a fight I would like to see. Win or lose it should be Hatton's last fight, crowning glory or proof he cant hack it at top level anymore, in which case he should retire.

    at 140 Hatton wins.

JMM is best going back to 135 where he is more suited, though not as good as at 126/130

Pacquiao only went up to 140 and has been fighting people at the same weight. Marquez went up to 142 and fought a 145 pounder.

Big difference between the two don't you think?

At 135 though the baby bull was able to hurt JMM, what more could a prime Hatton at 140 do to him?

Right now, I don't know who wins. Depends on the current state of Hatton. If he is all trashed up with his loss, then JMM can win via decision. If he can get back to his old form, he can hurt JMM.

Marquez would absolutely take him to school at any weight at any point of their careers. When was this mythical prime of Hattons? Was he fighting Eamonn Magee at the time?

I think even now Hattons size and power will be too much for Marquez. Hatton is a very physical fighter, bully you to the ropes maul, push, head in your chest. Marquez is a great boxer but even at 135 he looked slow and flat footed, not to mention his last three fights he has started to resort to trading, my guess is his speed isn't what it was to keep him safe from that so he's had to adjust. I think at any point of their careers Hatton is just too big. I would love to see it and have Marquez prove me wrong. I hope they make it happen in Wembley.

    Marquez late KO.

Hatton is damaged goods. JMM's pin point accuracy and Hatton's pathetic defense would equal a battering of Hatton's face. And JMM is the type of guy that when he smells blood, he goes for the kill.

40 people actually think Hatton has it in him to stop Marquez after Mayweather couldn't do it?

I'm not basing my conclusion based on his last performance. That to me is thrown out the window b/c of the disadvantage he was at by moving up in weight to a division he had no business in. He lost speed, he lost power and he lost fluidity. Floyd is fast and a great boxer but that had nothing to do with how he was on fight night at 142.

Floyd has ALWAYS had this unnatrual talent and skillset and he's faced lesser foes than JMM in the past and wasn't able to do what he was able to do in there with JMM at 142.

I saw the Lazcano fight. It was a close fight and Ricky didn't look that good. But Shane didn't look that good against a far lesser opponent in Collazo either when he faught him. Every fighter has off nights and I think Ricky did win against Lazcano although it was close.

PAC has got power and it was a clean shot that dropped him. That doesn't mean his chin isn't good. It means he's human. PAC could drop anyone at 140. That check hook floyd landed would do the same to anyone at 140 or 147. Hatton has stepped up in comp, therefore he's loosing and facing crisp sharp punchers who have speed and power. Of course he's getting put down.

How insulting to JMM to be compared to Ricky Hatton, with no disrespect to the Hit Man. JMM fought two close fights with Pacquiao, resulting in a draw and controversial loss. Hatton was destroyed in 2 by the Pacman. I think there is a clear difference in class.

I don't think I overrate Rick...he's a good fighter, solid champion but limited. He's a good 140 lb fighter without a doubt and one of the best. He's proven that much at Jr. WW.

I don't see Cotto beating PAC, but I know it's possible. I see PAC being too quick and too dynamic for Cotto to cope. I'm sure it will be more comeptitve than the Hatton fight but PAC was able to capitolize on early mistakes that helped him set up the hook that ended the night for Rick.....and it was a beauty.

PAC beat DLH and Ricky and it was all dominating and onsided. Of course many now feel that PAC only won in the fashion he did b/c no one expected those kinds of performances and now everyone is coming up with reasons to explain them. When they could really just give PAC credit for those wins. No one has dominated Ricky the way PAC did....no one has done that to DLH....I just see too many excuses being made to rationalize why PAC is so good when it's clear he's a speacial talent and fighter.

The same excuses will be made if PAC beats Cotto...he's shot, weight drained or not the same fighter post Marg. It's laughable to me. PAC in my opinion is proven at 140 by beating the man, which was Rick. Speed and velocity equal power. PAC's vastly improved and his right hand is very good and has come about after the rematch with JMM. The shot was perfect and explosive. I don't fault Rick for being slept on that one. Most would have fell if not all.

They all had the ability to return fire and they did....but they got discourage and overwhlemed by the dynamics and speed, as well as the power PAC showed. IF Cotto does win it's b/c he's the better fighter and PAC wasn't that night. But it could show PAC wins and dominates which would validate that he's a great fighter...once again, but once again, many will come up with excueses to why he won. It comes with the territory.
