Of course its not the exact same

But thats the way the British media are billing it Brook fighting the number 1 p4p fighter in Golovkin

It kind of reminds me of hatton going up from 140 to 147 to fight Floyd the number 1 p4p fighter at that time.

Only difference in this case is brook will be going up anther weight class but he is naturally very big anyway.

    Same as that really.

Brook gains huge rep for taking the challenge. Golovkin gains no credit for a low risk high reward victory.

Yea i also remember at that time people was saying hatton was too small but floyd got major credit for winning.

I think it slightly helped that Hatton had beaten Tzyu and also had been at WW before.

Brook isn't considered the man at WW and has never been at MW.

    no its the same

what about marquez going up 2 weight classes to fight floyd?

Brook is a massive welterweight and its clear he is the best i honestly would not pick canelo over him especially after how khan looked in the 6 rounds

brook has a far better chin then khan is bigger and has more power and has a stronger jab

Yes that's more similar to this.

And Floyd got slated for the JMM fight the wah Golovkin is being slated for this.

It isn't clear he has only beaten one world level opponent in a very close fight. Him vs Thurman would settle the issue at WW.

Whether or not you'd pick Canelo over Brook doesn't change anything really tbh.

its like this for me erol has not fought anyone but does that mean he would lose to khan/ortiz?

as boxing fans we know how good a fighter is

i would pick no one over brook at 147 he is too big for that weight class one of the reasons porter had no joy was because of the size of brook even Kieth who is a big ww could not impose his size like that.

Brook vs thurman i would favor brook 60-40

brook vs spence i would favour brook 60-40

brook vs khan i would favor brook 90-10

brook vs canelo is a 50-50 fight i slightly favor brook

Looking great against inferior opposition doesn't always translate to looking great at world level.

The odds you give are totally different to the odds the bookies would give.

Again you're opinion on those fights changes nothing.

This is totally untested waters for Brook which is why Golovkin is a huge favourite who won't get much credit for the easy victory ahead of him.

Would erol spence beat ortiz and khan/paulie(who fought better names then him)?

    That's why fights are made.

For instance everyone knew Barroso would destroy Crolla, but come fight night it was a different story.

The only reason I didn't add that was because the result could easily have gone to Collazo.

I scored it 6-6 with the kd being the difference.

I'm saying I don't know what would happen.

Ortiz is finished so I would expect Algieri to beat him. Khan v Spence is a very close fight. High risk low reward for Amir. I'd be amazed if that gets made.

People forget Golovkin is not even that big you will be shocked when you see brook and GGG stand side by side even more so at the weigh in
