    Article from Setanta's website.

Ricky Hatton's father Ray believes that his son will one day face Junior Witter, but says the fight will be made on his terms.
Witter's revelation to setantasports.com that he would be prepared to fight Hatton for free, has turned the focus back on Hatton and his unwillingness to face a man many within the game has the style to beat him.

The Bradford-born fighter is next set to defend his WBC light welterweight title against Timothy Bradley on the undercard of Carl Froch's super middleweight eliminator against Denis Inkin in Nottingham on May 10.
Despite possessing a world title, some feel that Witter could end up like another Ingle-trained fighter Herol Graham who missed out on big-money fights with Nigel Benn and Herol Graham, but Hatton Snr believes a fight against his son will happen at some stage.
"No disrespect to Junior, we've met him and he's a nice guy," Hatton told Setanta. "I just basically think people around him have advised him wrongly and read Ricky Hatton wrong.
"You'll never meet a nicer person than Ricky, but he does have a stubborn streak when he digs his heels in.
"He said: 'Dad, one day I think I'll wake up and say make the fight now, get it made now.
"But I want to feel that I'm making the fight. I don't want to feel that I'm forced to make the fight.'"

He doesn't really have a choice not to fight Witter if he stays at 140.
Right now, Witter is the best at 140 in my book and a fight with Hatton could generate a lot of money anyways !!

Deep down...I think Hatton knows he's in trouble if he faces Witter !

I would love to see Hatton call Witters bluff and then KO his dumb ass.

I don't see what all the fuss is about fighting Witter. He has his hands full right now with Bradley. Who did he fight that makes him the best at 140. The last time I seen him run, I mean fight, was with Zab. He has not been champ that long to earn that distinction. I think a fight with Hatton would be boring. Hatton will catch him right and then you will have a track meet.

I hope the fight happens but i have my doubts, espicially if hatton gets a ramatch with floyd which would be a disgrace to boxing

Hattons playing a waiting game with Witter (ducking him in other words) because he has a few years on Junior who relies on speed, Hattons waiting for that advantage to slide a bit. Hatton is renowned for taking on over the hill fighters, his 2 best wins (Tszyu and Castillo) had one thing in common....add to that he's always struggled with decent counterpunchers and you get the picture as to why he's not exactly busting his considerable gut to get Witter in the ring. He's going to lose, and lose badly - and he knows it.

Hence the 'I'll fight him in the future' bull**** from Hatton, he's been saying it for years now - because he knows he's going to get owned.
