Good point - Floyd Mayweather can actually fight. To get the victory and look good against Hatton, you have to be prepared to get your hands dirty. All Paulie has proved thus far is that he can take a sustained beating from a severely weight drained Miguel Cotto - who would have been KO'd by Hatton due to going on hunger strike! He hasn't proved he can actually fight yet - an essential part of becoming a big name. Being able to merely 'box' isn't enough.
Smaller than Hatton? I thought Paulie was at least two inches taller than Hatton, and has a longer reach?
He is taller, and has longer arms, but his overall build is much more slender. Hatton could be considered very 'thick set' as northerners say - and he is very strong. Paulie is a bit 'flimsy'!
Fair enough. I think ultimately it will be a very entertaining fight, regardless who wins. I hope it comes off.
If he Bring's his A game it's possible, staying on the outside quick combinations and gone. But Hatton is a master at staying on your chest holding and busting you up on the inside, he's also a hurtful body puncher which might slow paulie down. The only way for Paulie to win is by staying away and taking a Decision because his hand's are far too fragile for anykind of stopage. I acutually think this has the possibility of being an intresting fight i hope that it is because there's not much else going on at 140!.
140 is a dismal division. Good point about Paulie's hands. Like Calzaghe, it really limits his natural ability.
Floyd definitely set the blueprint; he picked him off on the way in, used border line tactics to tie Hatton's offensive game up and then used his speed to beat him to the punch on the inside. The only problem is that there's nobody at 140 with the ability to execute that plan as well as Floyd did. I like both fighters, but Hatton's going to be all over Paulie from the start without having to worry at all about what's being thrown back at him. Comfortable UD.
That is it exactly bro.. Malignaggi don't have "Enough" pop to keep Hatton off his chest. Paulie's only chance would be if he throws a Boxing = to a No Hitter.
Hatton was hurt several times by Juan Lazcano and if it weren't for the home cookin the outcome wouldve been different ... you could easily see the wear on Hattons face ... his body language was poor after the fight ... and he was walking into some ridiculous punches ... It wasn't just straight punches either ... he was getting caught with **** over the top ... He made Lazcano look like a better boxer than he actually is ...
Hatton has lost his aura of invincibility after the Mayweather fight. The question is, can he pick himself up or is he just going to fold like Naseem Hamed?
