There are a lot of jealous people on here who IMO are discrediting one of Britains finest boxers. If you dont like all the hype and money and fights that take place, the trash talk(hes avoiding me etc)then go watch another sport.Every boxer does it,some more than others. And you would all do the same to maximise your income, just as Hatton has done and just as Witter would do.Khan is going to be even worse IMO and hes earned so much money for doing nowt up to press but we'd all do it given half the chance.Names get banded about by all boxers and they never go near them but you choose to have a go at one that cracked the big time and earned the right to pick and choose who he fights in the multi million dollar American playground by racking up a big unbeaten record and fighting in an entertaining style.Sure we would all like to see the dream match ups in every division but they arent all going to happen are they.I get the feeling with some on here that no matter what Hatton does in the remainder of his career you will find fault. If he beats Witter and whoever else you think hes avoiding someone else.A new superstar or domestic fighter will have arrived on the scene and you will say he should have fought him before he retires,he cant win.If you are getting stuck into Hatton then you should get stuck into every millionaire boxer on the planet.Khan and Audley got it handed to them on a plate. But the few who do retire rich out of boxing have paid there dues to get where they are and when they make it all the hype, promotions and money are part and parcel. To single out a fighter who has at least been in with the best fighters out there a couple of times is ludicrous when you look at some of our previous Warren millionaire fighters.

I respect 38 other guys, but I'm a British boxing fan and only one of our top fighters went after and fought the #1 p4p in his prime.

99% of boxers careers are built around hype and bull****,it sells tickets.
And Witter is dead classy in interviews isnt he:roll: .It is just as well he has been a black belt with his mouth over the years because that must be the main reason people turn up to see his fights,it cant be his style in the ring.

    :rofl

It's a good point actually, after all Witter is defending his title on a Froch undercard. He is definitely an undercard fighter, hasn't got the drawing power to be headlining really, especially on ITV.

Now bearing in mind on Hatton's latest card we have Hatton - Lazcano, Malignaggi - N'Dou for the IBF title. With Ricky being the star, I doubt he'd want to bump his brother down the order, so Witter would end up being about 3 fights before the main event and I doubt they'd want four 12 rounders on the undercard.

An old, inactive Tszyu with the ref on his (Hatton's) side, and a mega-$$$$$ fight vs PBF...sure, real brave

If Hatton fighting the p4p #1 a weight up doesn't take bottle, then no British fighter has any bottle. Do you believe that?

Be serious he had nothing to lose. It would take more bottle to face Witter.

Of course, every top fighter should only fight crap opponents, then they have something to lose!

What's the point in anybody ever facing the best, they have nothing to lose.

Why didn't Hatton fight the p4p #1 at 140 (his ideal weight) when he had 2 opportunities to? :hey

More likely he's a clever man who knows how to spin things to suit his image. That's part the reason he fell out with FW, their characters are too similar.

FW doesn't let his fighters fight the best, that's why he fell out with him.
