If I did think Witter was crap, why would I deny it???

You're not normal. Give up. I haven't posted here for very long so you only have 500 posts to look through, but if boxingtalk was still up you'd have about 10,000 posts by me to look through, and I have never said Witter is a **** fighter. Because I actually like him. Get it?

Now shut up about it. Nobody cares. :tired These men are talking about boxing... You should too...

I was once a big Hatton fan and I have gone off him somewhat but I still give him huge credit for his achievements - that doesn't mean however, that I won't call him out when I think he's bullshitting or else has ulterior motives for waiting until 2007 for the Mayweather fight.

I do agree though that some are merely using the Witter thing as a front to hate on Hatton - he deserves criticism imo for his apathy towards this fight but some are a little excessive in their hate just as others are in their love towards him.

Beatboxer, if you were Hatton, would you take the fight?

I see people say he should fight Witter like it's a moral issue and he should make Witter rich and he should help Witter get on in life, but if you were Hatton and you held all the aces, would you want to help him when you get fights that are an equal to Witter (Paulie) and fights that are bigger. (Mayweather, Pac). Bearing in mind Witter does piggyback Hatton, Witter does bad mouth him, Witter does only have one real fight big fight in boxing in him, that being Hatton etc....

We all have differing opinions on this subject but the one thing I can't understand is Hatton getting stick over the run of fights JLC, Mayweather, Lazcano, PauliM. Surely thats a pretty good run of opponents given the circumstances? Were real boxing fans, who are supposed to know how the sport works, expecting a top 3 opponent after the Mayweather loss? They acted like they did......

That's posts 192 + 193 of this thread. I realise I might have touched a bit of a raw nerve pointing out what I see as a flaw in your character, but for what it's worth you have implied Witter is crap.

I genuinely believe you when you say you rate Witter, maybe you just got carried away when you posted the above. Anyway as you rightly said let's just drop this and get back to the boxing.

Are you f*cking serious? You're still arguing with me about what my opinion is...

You said Hatton needed more bottle to fight Witter than Mayweather, presumably because Mayweather is the best fighter in the world and losing to him is no shame, but Witter isn't.

By the same margin, it'd take more bottle for Hatton to fight Peter Buckley than Witter. and so on... therefore
Nothing to do with Witter being anything. Just a reply to a stupid comment.

Now unless you want to talk about boxing, not tell me who I rate or don't... shut up.

Jeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz guys this thread is going on forever, does anyone really think the other side will back down?

Like I said earlier, hating Hatton is the cool thing to do just now. A few hardcore haters and now the rest are following suit coz it's the 'in' thing.

Now if people hate the guy so much why do they spend such a large part of their day arguing about him?

If someone annoyed me so much I wouldn't mention him coz it would **** me off.

Moral of the story, your cool if you hate Hatton.

Sorry it took me a while to get back to you mate.

Yes. Heres why. It would definitively prove that Hatton is the top 140 fighter in the country and get that ****** off his back, silence the haters who think that he's ducking him and give the true fans of boxing a British mega fight. If he truly cares about his real fans like those on this forum, he would make the fight.

I understand the stuff about not wanting to give him a pay day I do. But those other reasons out weigh it for me. It would be satisfying anyway giving him a doing wouldn't you agree?

I would go for it if I were Hatton yes.

I didn't link it, but I did cite it as clear evidence that a Witter-Hatton bout is the one that boxing fans world wide want to see.

    1) Half the votes for Witter are by Brits.
    2) As stated before, fights are not made based on how many esb posters want them.

Watch HBO and tell me how often they mention Witter when Hatton is fighting... except never.

there has infact been talk recently that it is one of the fights that HBO wants hatton to take.

secondly, half the pacman votes are from the pac-maniacs.

money is no issue here, hatton has just proved that he can sell out a 50,000 seater stadium fighting a no name.

witter's right to a shot at "the man" of the division isn't the issue here, he is rightly listed at number two behind hatton in most boxing magazines/websites.

the interest is there. now it's up to hatton to step up to the plate and face his arch rival.

There's "been talk recently", but HBO just choose to never mention Witter on the station. Wow, they must be desperate for that fight. :rofl

Pacquaio is a more popular fighter than Witter, maybe as much as 1,000,000 to 1 ratio worldwide fanbase. Because he has fans and they voted for Pacquaio is the point I'm making.

And I never mentioned money, I'm taking about bigger fights.

The interest isn't there, no more than Malignaggi or Pacquaio or Mayweather II. It's just another possible fight, which happens to not be as big as the others.
