Hatton winding down his career

No he didn't. Hatton fought Floyd Mayweather. And he gave him every concession to make that fight.

Show me where and the details of him turning down the fight 3 times at 140. please.

 

Team Mayweather offered Hatton the fight twice. This much is a FACT. Either way its wholly immaterial now as we know the result and we know Hatton isnt capable of being in any elite class of champions and cannot beat Floyd even if they fought at his more comfortable "beer" weight of 180. The whole "i fought the best P4P fighter in the world" is EXTREMELY stale. Prior to the fight Hatton and Graham convinced the baying public that they had a gameplan to beat Floyd and saw holes in his game and everyone of you Hatton joyboys were duped and got behind your boy like blind AppleMac fans. Hatton subsequently was the victim of a boxing clinic and KO`ed by a turnbuckle.

A rematch is NOT a stern test nor interesting. The only reason why Hatton would want that fight again is to make big cheddar. The same big cheese that he said he turned down from HBO and Showtime for the Lazcano fight. Which was a bull**** lie because HBO and Showtime were not interested in selling the bout. So in one breath his not interested in money or the PPV and yet in another breath he wants another crack at Floyd but wont even face the best man at his weight? Thats beyond farcical. Theres not a shred of credibility about the man and thats why you Hatton fans hang onto whatever scrap he feeds you.

 

To anyone anyone who is slagging Hatton for avoiding opponents and having a farce of a career .Id better not see you on any Amir Khan or Calzaghe threads praising the them.Because if Hatton is a fraud as you say then so is every British boxer in the last 20 years.Benn,Eubank,Naseem,Calzaghe and especially Khan up to now.All managed to avoid the best American fighters in their careers.Naseem got to world level and packed in after one defeat.At least Hatton has been in with the best there is and im sure he will again.And anyway so what if hes not the best there is he is still a top exciting fighter.Also any Englishmen on this thread wishing him or any other Englishman to lose,you are an embarasment to your country.

 

For a start I'm not a Hatton "joyboy", I always said Mayweather would beat him.

A Mayweather rematch is not a "stern test"? He's the only guy whose beat Hatton and the biggest fight for anyone around welterweight. It might not be interesting for you, but it is still Hatton's biggest challenge.
Witter is nobody and nobody cares about him, get over it.

Lazcano is a comeback opponent. Witter is one of a group of fighters below Hatton at 140, Malignaggi is another and Hatton's fighting him next. Because more people want to see it than want to see Witter. Get over it.

 

Its debatable that Witter should be ranked 2nd and not 3rd behind Malignaggi.

If posters who disagree with you about Hatton are "joyboys" are you not a Witter "joyboy"?

And please answer me this question, why was it okay for Junior Witter to fight Morua as a first defence and not get slaughtered for it?

Negative im a fan of BOXING not a "fan" of fighters. The diffrences between Hatton and Witter are stark. Witter built a career in relative obscurity because Warren dumped him unceremoniously. Whereas Hatton was fed the silver spoon and has been nothing more than a media creation and uncredible hype. Now if you sell me Lazcano Hatton as a "world title" bout your insulting me. If you tell me Hatton is the best fighter at 140 but wont fight his rightful number 2, your insulting me. If you try and sell me PBF Hatton 2 your insulting me. Surely you can understand that?

Now when theres lots of hype behind a fighter LIVE UP to the HYPE and **** on the pot or simply get off. Hatton time and agin has thrust himself into the limelight with this sham of being a "regular lad" and interested in his fans. This is clearly not the case as his fighting Lazcano in ANOTHER tune up bout. If he kept his mouth shut and presented his fights for what they were there wouldnt be a problem would there!

 

You mean those same Americans on HBO and Showtime who told Hatton they werent interested in airing Hatton Lazcano? You mean the same Goldenboy who wanted to stage Witter Hatton? You means those Americans? Please this argument is worse than stale beer.

 

I think it's fairly non-contraversial to say that Malignaggi's NY fanbase is larger than Witter's Sheffield fanbase....
