True, but the same could be said about Witter to Hatton. I dont think the fight will happen, i think Hatton will fight Joy Mayweather and then retire, win or lose.
Your post is precisely my point. None of you Hatton jocks are able to even make a comprehensive argument. Your posts are based purely on supposition and large sprinklings of bull**** inbtween. Care to tell me what steroids has got to do with anything? I do i need to stoop to your level and cuss your ass out?
They are both as pathetic as each other. I do actually have a little sympathy for Witter. Not because Hatton doesn't want to fight him, but because no-one else wants to know either.
True or not we have another Hatton/Witter thread! Think we are now going around in circles with that particular debate .... atsch
That must make Hattonites cringe. How can you STILL follow a man thats a bluffer, he is hypocritical when he says in such honest fashion about caring for his fans when its about the biggest money clearly. If Hatton would just say like even PBF does, 'its business and its about getting the most out of it while i can, making the money and it boils down to that',ok he wouldnt be as well liked and his self esteem may take a battering bt he would be being honest anyways but no he does the complete opposite, says stuff like 'Ricky Hatton love his fans' bla bla bla and then goes and fights a Lazcona or whatever he is calld over Witter who said 'il fight him for nothing' Like the average Hatton dope of a fan that know no other boxers bar maybe Amir Khan they read in the paper 'Witter:Il fight Hatton for nothing' and surely they are thinking to themselves 'Go on Ricky and shut did lad up' So why doesnt he do what his fans really want want, still sell the 60,000 tickets and in the real boxing fans eyes gain much more respect by fighting Witter over that Lucozade lad. Its simple, by virtue of the fact he said 'He lost his chance' he is basically saying, i would have fought him, it would have being worthwhile but since i want an easier ride of it il not fight him. And before anybody starts on to me about him stepping up against Mayweather well il tell them this. I Bighead Healy would put on 15 lbs to get in a ring with Mayweather with that amount of $$$$ on the table and the fact i have nothing to lose anyways in truth Anyways, even if you get around the fact that he spreads **** from his mouth a lot, when he gets in the ring he is one of the most boring wrestlers i have ever seen. Not to mention the fact he disrespects his profession by never ever keeping in shape between his 2 fights a year. Sure he was pissed drunk at an interview live on RTE last week at the Macklin fight in Dublin. Id ****ing love it to see the promising southpaw Irish Paul McCloskey in the ring with Hatton in about 12-18 months. Also about Hatton while im on my rampant Wednesday rag throw, to anyone that defends Hatton as a good/great boxer my question is then, Why is Ricky unable to make the huge set up from 140 to 147 after so many years? Why does his team and himself always state 'im a light welterweight and made a mistake in....' That would suggest to me that EVEN HATTON himself knows how limited he is and that he needs to bully his opponents to fair well. Now i never minded Hatton outside of the ring until the last 2 years, i have always questioned him in the ring bar the 1 night when adrenaline carried him there against Kostya but is comments in the papers, radio, tv show or on Sky Sports have driven me to the point i honestly really dislike him and what annoys me even more is his plan worked and he won over fans with his fake persona And yes i did have a bad day but its a free forum
The fact is Hatton knows he can fill the big stadiums and casino's by just fighting joke fighters, he has done this his entire career. Why take a genuine risk at fighting an opponent that can beat him but who does not offer him any more of a financial incentive than a fight with Lascano does. All that is on Hatton's mind right now is a potentially huge money making rematch with PBF. Hatton will not choose to fight any fighter who has half the chance of beating him because he knows that a potential loss could cost him the chance of earning millions. Hatton will do nothing to jeopordise a fight with PBF.
Only the biggest of Hatton apologists would defend such a lame excuse. Personally I'm bored of this now. Most sensible people recognise Hatton needs to fight Witter.
I love the way every new Hatton thread brings new ideas forward and fresh perspectives to the issue. I never tire of seeing this debate constantly evolve and change on ESB..
It's normally fresh excuses though no? It's pathetic the politics of our sport allow this kind of thing to happen. One of my mates the other day said it's the reason he cant get into boxing. He said, "at least with football he will get to see every team face each other twice a year. In boxing you get several people saying they are the best but not fight each other."
yeah..many a time i have refused to fight someone after they have whispered "one day" in my ear. it really puzzles me when fans defend hattons stance on this one. i'd understand if you personally knew hatton, were a lifelong friend or maybe a relative, but for a normal fan of boxing to not want to watch the best two fighters in a division face each other seems very very strange.
Im not too bothered about this fight. Witter has shot himself in the foot with his constant hounding of hatton in the press. All hes succeeded in doing is make Hatton develop such a dislike for him, that he will deny him the one thing he craves the most.
What bothers me is even if Hatton was in it for the money why didnt he face Witter when he was defending against Stewart or Olivera or Smith? its not like they bought massive appeal or TV wanted these fights. Even back then Hatton simply refused to fight him, people say Warren protected him but if Witter was a foregone conclusion why didnt he wipe the floor with him then?
I dont really for Witter he is like a really obnoxiuos kid who you would love to give a beating. That is why i dont understand why Hatton wont fight him (as i dont think it will happen). Truthfully i think Hatton would beat Witter quite easily, i always have. Witter is very overated imo. Whilst i dont believe Hatton is afraid of Witter, he has fought better/tougher fighters in Tszyu and Mayweather, i dont understand that if you hate a guy you dont fight him? I would want to kick the crap out of Witter for the **** he has talked over the years. p.s. Lazcarno is getting a kicking on this board and Hatton for fighting him as a tune up, but this is the same guy who alot of people where saying Harris beat (as a dangerous fighter) to convince myself and others that Harris was a quality win for Witter?
