That fight will be made eventually. Like you said, it's the most important fight in the division, and there's good money to be made.
I'm a fan of Ricky Hatton...but I don't know him personally so I don't make any excuses why he won't fight Witter. It's obviously been a subject for a good long time now and the fight should most definitely be made. Ricky's excuses are not strong enough excuses IMO, but it's up to him to fight Witter or not. I think it may have to do with money.
They should fight and have done with it. Myabe Goldenboy will see the light and sign the fight. Oh by the Way hatton By KO.
Everybody else can have a tune up accept hatton.:-( Its bollocks. Nobody had a go at witter for fighting moura who his just if not worse than lacanzo.
All that describes this post is ridiculous. I don't particularly think Hatton is an amazing boxer but fighting witter? you said it yourself, high risk low reward.....SO why would Hatton take this fight when he doesnt have that much to gain? to shut the few doubters here? Would he not be better fighting others who would draw in big $$$$ in the US AND rise his reputation there (i.e. continue to look for high risk/high gain scenarios). I think you are forgetting, boxers want to make the $$$$$ and secure as good a legacy as possible. The best way to do that is high risk/high gain. Not high risk low gain- its common sense really. As an after thought, add into the argument that Witter is nothing but disrespectful to Hatton. Yes he could shut him up by beating him BUT he would also be handing the guy the biggest payday of his career and give him the chance to go after the biggest fights. Not how i treat someone who disrespects me anyway.......... Thank you, I win :good
So when Ricky disrespected PBF and PBF gave him the biggest payday of his career, its ok... But when Witter does the same thing, its not? Ricky was a high risk (though many say no nowadays) Low reward (Hatton's a LWW, PBF's W would mean little to his critics towards his legacy. No doubt about the $ though). I liked Ricky, but for him to want to be the best in the WORLD, I think he should leave no doubt about his own country. Stop ducking Ricky
Ricky was high risk? 140lb Hatton? No, I think the majority of the boxing world, including Floyd, knew Hatton was gonna get diced up. All about the $$$.
O.K., So you support Ricky in his persuit of dollars and paper legitimacy rather than meaningful fights. Thanks for sharing your crass ,worthless nuthugging opinion.
Hatton was an extremely low risk fight for PBF. Its only because so many Brits post on the forums that you could get any other impression.
