Close fight I agree could have gone either way but PBF did the right thing and gave him an immediate rematch and won that one cleanly.
Hatton doesn't have the reach or jab to keep PBF honest. That's the big problem for him going into this fight. If Hatton had longer arms and a good jab he would have a better chance. Also I feel Hatton's lack of defense will also be key especially when facing an elite counter-puncher like PBF. Hatton will have no answer for it and will be getting hit almost at will. Hatton has to fight people who stand in front of him and are easy to hit to be successful and against PBF he won't have that luxury. PBF will stick and move fighting off of his back foot and making Hatton look clumsy and slow in the ring. PBF wins this fight by wide UD or late round TKO.
It's called boxing. Why stand in trade when you can outbox your opponent to a win?:-( Only a fool would fight a fight that doesn't give him the best chance to win.:deal
I defend him because of irrational haters like yourself. Haters like yourself are never satisfied. People have been wanting to see PBF-Hatton for years but now instead of applauding it. People are finding every reason to discredit the fight by saying it should have taken place at 140. Even though PBF offered to fight him there 2 years ago and was turned down now its somehow PBF's fault.
And in the process of all his "running" he will land about 400 punches on the charging Ricky painting his face red. Meanwhile, Hatton will land about 200 clean punches, and initiate 100 clinches.
N'DOU pressured Floyd more than anyone I've seen. He also landed more punches and did nore damage to Floyd than anybody else(with the exception of Emanuel Augustus) I've seen. Oscar put a lot of pressure on Floyd too. Pressure will not be enough to win this fight for Hatton. If he just comes at Floyd without using the jab or utilizing an efffective defense, he will lose. People need to let that Castillo fight go. Floyd was 25, coming up in weight, injured, and had a 9 lb. weight disadvantage. Floyd is older now, healthy, not coming up in weight and will not be at much of a weight disadvantage. Hatton can win, but he won't do it by trying to copy Castillo.
For some one who only considers hurting your opponent as success, clearly Judah was far more successful against Cotto than he was Mayweather. How many times I gotta use your own words and opinions to destroy your supposed credibility?
I think most people already know I'm pretty leveled when it comes to who I like more (Hatton or PBF) so I think my opinion is as unbiased as they come. Hatton will put up a good fight but he only has one cut and dry advantage over PBF and that's strength. Other than that PBF is techincally light years ahead of Hatton in practically every aspect of the fight game. Only way Hatton beats PBF is if the fight takes place in a 6 by 8 foot jail cell and even then Hatton get countered like hell. Hatton has a ton of balls and I praise him for taking on PBF knowing damn well he will have to put up the fight of his life. If the boxing Gods didnt smoke so much weed we would see Hatton vs Cotto/Mosely first and then the winner take PBF.......Williams, Cintron can wait after the dust clears or maybe take on each other which would be sswwwweeeeetttttttt.
Why do it? To prove that he should have been the linear champion at 140 as well, something all you haters are quick to point out when it serves your agenda. "Oh well he ducked the real champions at 140 and fought Gatti" Blah, blah, blah. Youre all the same and all you bring is the same tired bull **** over and over.
Exactly! People bring up that same **** all the time to try and discredit PBF's legacy at 140. PBF would have fought Hatton there in 2005 but was turned down period.
Actually Guru Zab won the majority of the early rounds vs PBF in some ways he dominated certain rounds and technically dropped PBF never realy hurt him but stunned him. I could not give Zab one round in which he totally dominated and kept Cotto in a shell in their fight. Sure Zab stunned Cotto more times in their bout but Cotto took a lot more risks so he could impose his will. Its like someone mentioned in another thread or maybe it was Larry Merchant or Buddy Mgirt "When your a good mechanic your gonna get dirty":!: :smoke
Why? Hatton should have fought him there when he had the chance. Not to mention PBF hasn't fought there since 2005. PBF calls the shots here not hatton. Just like Oscar called the shots and made PBF come up to fight him at 154, Hatton should prove himself and do the same with no excuses. Hell PBF's best weight wasn't 154 but he still took the fight.:deal
