From the few recent interviews i have read and seeing Ricky and Floyd sr talk on that Ricky Speaks program it seems Ricky is going to go back to his pre-Tszyu style of fighting; not wading in with wide hooks and coming in behind his jab more; going back to using more inteligent footwork and feinting more thus opening up his opponent to land his combinations instead of just leaning on his opponent and smothering his own work. Also Floyd sr has said he is teaching Hatton stuff he hasn't been shown before.

Now i know Ricky's sharpness, stanima and punch resistance isn't what it was at his peak but with him going back to a more intelligent style of fighting how do you guys think he will perform from now on?

Obviously there is the upcoming Mallinaggi fight but after that there is talk of him facing the winner of DLH/Pac or even JMM at 140. There is also the small possibility of him fighting the other top dogs at 140 (Bradley, Holt, Torres). How do you think the 30 year old Ricky fighting more like his pre-Tszyu style can fare against these guys?

well i said it in the other threads he is not doing well at all but i have also said that floyd snr even at this late stage in the game is the best thing that happens too him (better late then never)

even though i said he would lose to the like of hoya/pac man/jmm, that was a honest prediction of what i have seen of him from all his receant fights
i hope he does prove me wrong and start doing what he did that magical night against kostya!

he better stay away from bradley holt torres at 140 and dlh at 147 pac and jmm maybe i see him possibly beating up on lightweights with success but he needs to focus on paulie

i think you are very wrong there, he has got his hands full with paulie just to start thing off
de la hoya is like tyson for hatton he will get KTFO
bradley with a little more time is gonna be trouble for any of the top guys
torres has got a puncher's chance as he always does
pac man would be interesting we will see how he does at moving up to fight hoya if he copes with the power of hoya the hattans gonna kiss his arse
jmm is too accurate and will land sweet combos to hatton lovely face all night and check hook him (while he is diving in head first as he does)
at ko him rd 12 remember it is not just pwer that KO's but accurate timed shots can KO raging bulls :smoke

    yeah yeah yeah.

"hes to big" "he's too strong, hes gonna land big combos " everyone said he had no chance to beat tszyu. most people thought Castillo would beat him too.

De La Hoya hasnt been good enough to REALLY beat a top 5 fighter for a while now. take a look at his record his last few fights...any wins stick out to you?

Torres and Holt I agree have punchers chances but it wont count for much after 5 rounds of getting hit with those body punches.

Marquez is a great fighter but hes gonna start slowing down before he gets a chance to face Hatton. hes also really small for a mauling buzzsaw like Hatton.

PAcquiao....wow who knows? if he does well against Hoya it'll make things interesting but I think hes in for it if he fights a guy like Hatton who wont give him any space to throw his punches.

i've been wrong before though... Maybe Rickys worse off than I think he is.:huh

    heres my 2 cents/pence.lol:

iv seen some footage recently of hatton training with floyd and beard and thank f... that bodybag is consigned to the dustbin/trash can(sorry)..

its clear that he is concentrating on subtle things, the boxing technique he has but was reluctant to use in favour of a more crowd pleasing one dimensional style is coming to the fore again,he seems slicker, more restrained, strong and versatility wise i think a few people are in for a wake up call come november,i am still in 2 minds as to the chemistry and outcome of this slightly weird pairing but who knows it could go horribly wrong or the complete reverse,if he beats the pre-op then then you have to give the boy his dues he has to go down as one of the best lightwelterweights of modern times

you are setting yourself up for the classic and extremely unoriginal "past there primes, he fought old fighters" cliche response there!

as i said before floyd snr is the right man for hatton and i hope he does get better because im sorry
    collozo
    urango
    mayweather
    lazcono

were not performances of a moster 140pounder who is meant to be P4P

i hope hatton proves me wrong

lazcono shook hatton up twice with a slight check hook shot this is from a lightweight who is not a big puncher
collozo beat hatton pure and simple
    urango was a rubbish display
mayweather took a little time to get used to his style but he always had his number and sent him home in unbelievable fashion
castilo past his prime old man who gave up on boxing, im suprised he made weight for the fight lmao, that knockout did not show much

no and ive been wrong before to but i dont care how old they are

DLH will KO hatton at 147 any hatton showing at 147 was disgusting
he bearly survived collazo and didnt survive mayweather

HOLT TORRES BRADLEY will all beat hatton maybe even KO him lets not forget juan lazcano a blown up old lightweight was rocking hatton

PAC,JMM are the only ones i see hatton having a chance against

these arent the days when hatton fought tszyu and yes castillo was past his prime and i dont know one person who thought hatton was going to lose he did in a more impressive way then i thought but hatton is no longer the buzzsaw that he was mayweather knocked that intensness out of him but i been wrong before i may be wrong i dont see him doing anything relevent after and if he gets by malinaggi
