I think Mayweather-Hatton was a big fight. 2 undefeated guys, both representing separate nations, both popular, high profile, same weight, and best of all the fight lived up to the hype.

In recent times Floyd's career is always looked at through a microscope. They say he fight this guy when he was too green, this guy was too old, this guy had previous losses, this guy had an injured shoulder, that guy was slow and flat footed, that guy is a front runner,.....its always something.

But why does it seem this doesn't happen with other fighters. Why was Hatton so popular and supported when his biggest wins were only an OLD Tsyzu, an OLD Castillo, and a Powder Puff Paulie??

You guys say Mosley, Oscar, Pacquiao, Marquez, Genaro Hernandez, even Cotto were OLD when Floyd fought them. But I dont believe that any of them were as far pass prime physically and mentally than Kosta Tsyzu and Jose Luis Castillo when Hatton fought them!! Hatton got praised for beating these 2 old men where someone like Floyd would be crucified for it!!

Somebody tell me, why is that?

I think you are socially inept. Hatton was a man's man. A proper fighter.

That's why he was a loved boxer.

Because PBF is held to a higher standard that's why and spare with that TBE stuff because he was held to a higher standard long before he called himself TBE.

True, but I was answering the question posed by OP.

    Why was Hatton loved?

OP doesn't know because he's socially inept.

The fact that he stopped a physically and mentally elite pound for pound fighter in Tszyu, will have him loved forever.

If you don't know what that fight meant, you are an absolute newbie or lacking in depth of boxing knowledge.

    Urango was also a beast.

At least, he had the ***** to fight 3 top fighters in their prime which ********** never did and beat Tsyzu when he was ranked #1. :hi:

Zoo was a 100 years old and he retired after the loss. BTW PBF's resume ****s on Hattons and he owns him in the ring.:hi: Beat him so bad and mentally screwed him that he had to hire his daddy to teach him how to fight like PBF.:rofl

Hatton's best win was Tszyu. Castillo was finished.
He struggled terribly against Collazo in a razor close fight.

You're degrading Floyd's legacy. Unlucky for Floyd that Hatton is one of his best wins.

His best win was Tszyu, but performance-wise he was tremendous against Urango. He also had a tough, gruelling fight with Vince Phillips, in which he mostly dominated.

Hatton is his third best win IMO.

    1. Corrales
    2. Castillo II
    3. Hatton

Physically and mentally Elite!!!:lol::patsch LMAO!! The same Kosta Tsyzu who was already half retired sitting out the sport almost 2 years due to injuries. Retiring immediately after the Hatton fight...that Kosta Tszyu?? The old guy who could barely put his thoughts together much less his punches!! Did you watch the fight, Tsyzu looks like Oscar when he fought Pacquiao!!

And Urango was not a beast, he was slow, flat footed, come forward predictable muscle. Intelligent, adaptable, smart does not describe Urango
