Is anyone else really excited about Hattons potential last 5 or 6 fights?
It looks like he will be fighting in a load of great matchups that will really cement him a legacy at 140. Malignaggi is very likely at some point, as is Pacman. Juan Diaz may move up. Witter fight is more than a possibility.

I kinda felt deflated after the Mayweather fight, as if his career had hit a brick wall. But in some ways losing to PBF was good for his career path. He woulda only fought DLH in a meaningless bout (which he would have lost) had he beaten PBF. And then probably some other past it big name like Mosley.

But in losing, he has no choice but to return to his best weight where there are much more intriguing fights to my mind.

if your going to lose to anyone it SHOULD be to the p4p best.

he made it a tough fight but really wasnt alowed to outhustle floyd which he did against all other opponants to date. very exciting and rough 'n' ready he has no defence but his workrate and shear offence makes him a dangerous man to beat.

anyways to light welter it is where he will destroy mali
witter is not a bad opponant to face but i would fight a far more easier opponant and a bit of champion run before witter

Hatton wanted to beat the best, Mayweather took him on cause he know he wasn't going to be beaten, Hatton believed his hype that he was one of the best. If he wants to take the best on at LWW he has to fight Witter if Hatton really is all about pride, otherwise he will go down as a coward in my book.

    Why not?

If he had beaten PBF, he woulda fought an unwinnable money fight against DLH, who would be far too big and strong. DLH fights are more of a circus event nowadays, whereas Hatton back at his natural weight fighting in far more intriguing matches like Witter, Malignaggi and Pacman are much more exciting for his career.

watching the malignaggi (or what ever the ***gots name is) fight the other night, i cant see Ricky having problems with him. he'll dominate 140.

All the good fights are at WW and it's too big for him.
The LWWs are weak and uninteresting.
It's a case of 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'.
If only I had such worries.......and $50 mil in the bank!

He lost his first loss to #1 P4P how is this a bad thing? it eventually happens its better that FMJ took it instead of some new kid looking to make a name.

Yes, I am looking forward to seeing Ricky back at 140

A win over a small welter in Mayweather would have been papering over the cracks, and he would have got beaten badly by other welters

He will without a doubt go after Paulie to become 3-time IBF champ.

Then hopefully pursue a fight with Juan Diaz, who I think should not move up yet since there are a lot of options at 135 left (D. Diaz, Casamayor, Katsidis, or junior lightweights like Pacquiao, JMM, and Guzman).

Then after that, possibly give Witter a shot if Golden Boy has built him up the right way with the fans.

Finally, a move back up to 147 for more big money fights with whoever, although I think his 2 journeys up showed his power didn't carry with him.
