Came on the scene beating an old and inactive Tszyu. Knocked out by Mayweather. Should have been knocked out by Lazcano last year if weren't for the terrible referee. Lost to Collazo in many people's opinion. Starched by Pac-man. Just a glorified version of Arturo Gatti and not even as exciting.
One of best light welters ever (top 10). Only man to stop Jose Luis Colllazo. One of few men to give PBF a hard time, even though not in prime division. Has been in most P4P lists since 2005. Beat Collazo on aggresion as won to many early rounds. Cruised to a win over future champ Urango. Highly ranked among Britains best
Well, he was on a path to greatness before getting derailed by Mayweather and retired by Pac:deal. He is def. highly touted as a British-born champ, but world-wide ranking is not HOF worthy. I actually agree that he is of the same calibur as Gatti, but I don't think he is overrated by anyone except fanatics. Best 140lber since Tszyu.
Well this was always comin. The yanks couldnt wait to stick the knives in. Tszyu was considered the best all time light welterweight and hatton was only 25 when he beat him. 1st one to KNOCK OUT Castilo. Beat Collazo. Pushed floyd with a unfair ref and was out of his weight class. 2 weight world champion. Only ever lost twice, to the two p4p's. Not bad is it?
Damn straight. There is a reason Kostya actually said the better man won that night. Kostya was still near the top of his game when he lost. Hatton is great. Problem is, Pacquiao is on a whole other level. I look forward to either him pasting Mayweather or clearing up this Marquez mess before the year is out.
No he didn't.Hatton was holding on for dear life at the end of that one.And Sharmba Mitchell was shot like Tszyu was, having been stopped twice previously, including once by Tszyu.Tszyu was 35 and that was his last fight. After getting outwrestled and outelbowed by Hatton,he never fought again, realizing he just didn't have it anymore. The Ring is a good magazine, but they were probably giving him his props for previous accomplishments.Come to think of it,I don't know how anyone could be called "the perfect fighter" who had been stopped by decent, not great Vince Phillips.
Well,Hatton is an easy target.First off,he's probably the dirtiest "boxer" on the international scene these days. And,just last week,he was telling everyone that would listen should he win this fight,he'd be p4p best fighter in the world. How presumptuous and untruthful. When someone is boasting like that,he better be able to back it up.Obviously,he couldn't and he's overrated. And I hope that no one took Rickster's advice and bet the mortgage on him, because if that happened, there'd be a new financial crisis.Tszyu was 35 and shot when they fought.Castillo was shot, too. In fact he looked useless in his previous fight and was undisciplined to the max, consistently having diffuculties making weight throughout the latter stages of his career. And the worst referee on the planet,Dave Parriss, allowed Ricky to do everything except whack Kostya on the head with a blackjack. In fact Parriss is only 10 times worse than Cortez, having demonstrated that yet again in the Khan-Barrera fight.Unfair ref?Yeah he didn't let Ricky used his tried and true tactic of illegally holding and hitting. And out of his weightclass?Floyd is the one who kept moving up to take on bigger and better challenges.Remember Floyd started his career at 130,and won titles at 130,135,140 and 147.And Collazo was robbed against him. There is always an excuse with Rickster. Some of his excuse makers are claiming he was weight drained. So he should move up.Oh wait that was one of his excuses when Mayweather starched him, that Mayweather was so big. That didn't work out so well for the Rickster, did it?
