Hattons 'close friend' quoted in The Guardian.

Funny how 'close friends' are always the first to **** on you in the press. Let's say for arguments sake this was true, what's the ****ing criteria for the newspaper to establish you as a genuine 'close friend'?

 

Which is exactly why it's best to dismiss this tenuous style of reporting.

 

Ricky said he considered Pacquaio to be the champion, as he was the best pound for pound fighter, and he (Hatton) was the challenger.

Freddy Roach also said Hatton shopuld consider retiring - and dismissed accepting a fight between Khan and Hatton -

Roach said. “I hope he retires because it’s a hard game and he has achieved greatness. Why go on? "

“I know Amir has the right style to beat Ricky Hatton, but I don’t want to see that fight happen. I like Ricky. It would be good for my kid, but I don’t want to see anyone get hurt. Knockouts like that are not good for people, so he should consider retirement."

 

The Guardian is a respectable paper, surprised to see them spout this bull****.

If we remember back to the days on Sky Sports 1 I think we all knew back then that Hattons fighting style and his lifestyle would result in him losing a lot of his attributes in the latter part of his career.
