Hattons offense is his defense he does not bob or weave and has little or no head movement. He doesnt feint his way in. Rick just bores in, and if you can hold him off you stand a good chance of beating him. PBF exploited this lack of Defense.

You mean his defense is his offense...

His ofence wasn't too great either. In fact, he was beaten in all aspects that night.

In the earlier rounds Hatton did show some head movement. He actually managed to slip Floyds jab and land his own on occasion.
As soon as his initial burst of energy wore off and PBF got warmed up it was a different story. I don't think Ricky's defence was at all bad, Mayweather just worked him out, as he always does.

You can see Hatton doing a good job slipping punches here.

He still got caught with a few stiff jabs, but it wasn't really a problem until the mid to late rounds. After the point deduction he lost his head completely and abandoned all defence, but for the first 4, 5, maybe even 6 rounds, he was doing a fairly good job of not getting hit much (Floyd was only averaging 10 landed punches per round for the first 6 or 7).

His biggest problem in my opinion was not his defence (not until after the deduction at least when he got wild and reckless) but his ineffective offence. Floyd managed to completely neutralize his attack, when really to have any chance he needed to be wearing Floyd down with clean shots on the inside, which he was never able to do.

no it isn't he only looks good beating guys like urango (he didn't actually look good beating urango) when he steps up to a live oponent he struggles, feather fisted collazo hurt him, witter will knock him out and malignaggi will school him, quote me on this.

he went the distance with Cotto, he's no *****.

I pick him to UD Hatton.
Hatton has proved good at roughousing tomato cans, lightweights and old men...and that's about it.
He got beat by PBF all ends up, it was not just down to lack of defence.
It's time Hatton faced Witter or Malignaggi....no more old men or C class fighters.

Paulie may look like a *****, but he's a tough guy under it all. I bet you couldn't last 12 rounds with Cotto beating the **** out of you? Which would make you less then a *****. :smooch

yup your right. his defeence was good in the first six rounds. floyd was just too good and strong on the inside( which surprised me) if Hatton could of kept up the defence of the first few rounds throughout it could have been different but he would of still been beaten UD
