Granted i only watched the Macklin fight which was over fairly quick it all looked a bit amaturish. Hatton looked terrible and had his whole family ringside. What's he got his ma ringside for ? PLus he was jumping up and down screaming at Macklin from ringside. Lacked class he has a lot to learn as a promoter in my book.

Most of the fights were horrible mismatches against absolute bums.

This is true, murrays opponent was probably the worst i've ever seen, no excuses it was wrong. It was his first show so i'll wait and see what he's like in future.

I cant believe how Horton fought that fight, he might as well have stuck his chin up in the air and shouted, 'Hit me'. You would think after a couple of near misses he would have been more cautious.

I see no problem having his family ring side, especially considered that his dad and brother are part of the boxing community.

Having his mum there was stupid. She was playing with her phone when Macklin scored the first knockdown. I don't think she was interested.

I think there needs to be something done about the mismatches at all shows.

Guys like Delroy Spencer, Karl Taylor and so on need to have their licences revoked, and there needs to be stricter control on fighters coming in from abroad.

Promoters aren't helping though..... at the Froch undercard there are two young light welters on the show, both against bums - why not stick them against each other?

The paying public prefer quality, not quantity - good fighters in good fights.... not just good fighters.

I'd much rather go to an action packed two hour show with proper fights than a five hour show with a bunch of prospects vs clowns - and would be prepared to pay more for the privelege.

you cant have prospects fighting prospects all the time mate thats just impossible. Boxing needs the likes of spencer and taylor to develope the kids and for them to learn the trade. I know what your saying, its just never gunna happen

    Hmmm....

A lot of the so-called prospects aren't actually prospects, they are basically journeymen themselves being looked after by their promoters and hometown refereeing.

I agree that boxing does need journeymen, but there needs to be an element of quality control, surely?

Some of these guys don't even turn up to win, which surely goes against the essence of sport - not just boxing, anything.

Turn up, run for four rounds, lose, get a few quid, same again next week.

    Another day, another dollar.

yeah he should of boxed at least the first half of the fight at distance .cello had not fought since prizefighter i think he said and you could tell in the first round he missed a lot and looked wild at times. but he has good power and change things around with one punch at domestic level

What your asking for though is just unrealistic. You want Liverpool-man u
Madrid-Barca every week. Every kid who turns over considers himself a prospect. I cant imagine anyone turning pro with the mindsett of earn a grand every other week to give someone 6rnds. Then, for some it becomes a living.Felt sorry for Delroy Spencer the other night dont think he deserved to be stopped and will be out of action for the next 4 wks due to a refs bad call. Its up to the so called prospects to look impressive against these 'journeymen' and therefore provide entertainment but you cant deny these lads a living because they dont have the bet of backing and promotion, and the real shite falls away anyway. Some journeymen go on to win titles. Steve Robinson was considered a journeyman.
Anyway if that makes no sense and reads as utter bollocks its because i'm rough as arseholes n still half pissed:dead but i know what i mean... I think:good
