We all saw that Floyd was the better man on the night. But what was Hatton able to do to punish Floyd? Here's what I found while watching the fight:

Joe Cortez controlled that fight more than either Hatton or May. Joe should have been awarded the victory.

Hatton was fighting 2 men in that ring. The ref was completely out of line and working for May weather.

    It was a travesty.

If we could have had a different ref, the fight would have been fantastic, I even think Hatton could have won.

Instead we got a Ref that would not allow Hatton to fight on the inside, forcing the fight to the center of the ring. All to help Mayweather.

Shame Dave Parriss wasnt the ref in that one. Ricky could have won that fight by repeatedly kicking Floyd in the balls and Diamond Dave would have stood there with his hands up his ass.

Yes Hatton should have been able to maul and foul his way to victory like he did against Kostya Tzyu...

Hatton had some moments early and pushed Floyd back a couple of times....

That KO he suffered was epic though, going face first into the turnbuckle was as good as it gets on a highlight reel!!

Floyd fouls more than Hatton, hugging and using his elbows.
No way he knocks Ricky out like he did without Cortez.

There is some truth to the Cortez criticism, but it's a little overblown. I think Mayweather's strength on the inside wasn't allowing Ricky to easily get the leverage he needed.

However, Cortez factored into the fight a little bit, which is wrong on his part. He broke the clinches up early and allowed Mayweather to use the forearm to Hatton's face constantly. The forearm thing stood out like a sore thumb to me.

I guess I have mixed feelings on the issue. Cortez clearly messed things up somewhat, but it's hard for me to blame Cortez without pointing out that Floyd was outmuscling Hatton on the inside at times.

in the video. I'm not saying Floyd was ready to be knocked out, but I think he was stunned more than people realize. I think that's why he ducked into the ropes, to take the easy way out. Because if you look closely, Hatton's shots to the back of the had barely touch Floyd.

I wouldn't have been surprised to see Hatton in that form beat Cotto.

Hatton lacked the physical strength to make his bully strategy work. Mayweather was too strong on the inside. Hatton ran into a similar brick wall against Collazo, whom I felt edged him on the cards.

Hatton was fast and probably should have utilized that more, he just wasn't LaMotta or Duran in terms of power or strength, but tried his hardest to be a mauler regardless. When he tried to change his style, he was too set in his ways.

That's exactly what happened against Mayweather. But I will never understand how some people gave that fight to Collazo. I thought Ricky won 6 rounds minimum (plus a knockdown). I have to stretch my mind almost beyond reason to even consider that Collazo won 7 rounds. But even if Collazo HAD won 7 rounds, it would still be a draw due to Hatton's 10-8 first round.

I respect other's opinion, but I really think a lot of the calls on that fight is people over-emphasizing the last round they saw, a dominant 12th roundby Collazo.
