No doubt a very good fighter, but maybe in retrospect he was a creation of British media. He was portrayed as this humble all out exciting fighter; but in reality he was a hug and mug fighter who would endlessly proclaim to anyone who would listen that he was "humble." That really isn't humility, he was kind of pretentious in his assumptions about Mayweather. I understand that we should be support our those from our community, but what we saw was a creation of British pop crazed media desperate for a hero. In summary its been said that we can't hide the truth in the ring, as Hatton lay flat on his back. P.S I hope he comes back though and fights and wins again.
His hype finally is laid to rest and boy am i glad.Hatton is an excellent fighter there is no questioning this but the hype surrounding him was ludicrous. To this point his faced only 2 names both of which were well past it.Thats not bad for a fighter who`s 30-0 but not for a guy who`s had 44 fights. In his first 50/50 fight as the outside bet he was KO`ed in stunning fashion. Hatton will be back but not for long. His made his money and will probably retire fairly soon.
I dont think he's overhyped...Unless you thought he was a top 5 P4P guy. He's very good. Floyd is just sooo much better.
The good news is. Maybe now he will fight Witter, it makes perfect sense now. Witter has the title and Hatton learned his lesson.
Oh no!!! Dont try the weight ****. IT was long discussed and agreed on both sides that neither fighter was a true welter. :deal
That was as impressed as I have ever been with Hatton. He fought a larger man and was all over Floyd until he got caught. He got jipped by the ref and still was in his gameplan. That's boxing -- it happens. You have to live with your mistakes.
Flyod's best weight is 140 lbs, alot of people overlook that. Neither one is a big welterweight. What happened was he stepped up to the challenge and found out he wasn't as good as he thought.
He lost that collazo fight, nuff said. It's funny seeing all these Mayweather fans act like he just beat a legend. Hype ruins boxing.
As an American and a former basher of Hatton I cordially disagree. I used to think that he was a creation of British media as you stated. I thought that he was protected and I expected him to be exposed by Kostya Tszyu. Truthfully, he's a hell of a fighter. Hatton proved me wrong over the years but this just goes to show the separation from Hatton to PBF. All you Floyd haters, for your own good, shut the **** up and learn to appreciate. You're watching a Michael Jordan, a Wayne Gretzky, a Tiger Woods. You'll miss him when he's gone, trust me.
I agree with most of what you're saying. Hatton is obviously a good fighter but the British media, as usual, blew this **** way outta ****in proportion. I mean good on the english fans for supporting their fighter(s) like they did here, but some of the talk coming outta the english posters on here was unbelievable. Nasty habit the british media has, isn't it? You can't hate Hatton for not living up to those unrealistic expectations.
Oh come on! Jeesus ****ing christ! This ALWAYS happens on ESB. When ever a fighter is beaten he is 'exposed' and proven to be a bum which he was all along......right? right? No. Hatton beat one of, if not THE greatest 140lbers in history and he gave a great account of himself in this fight.
I was saying this way before the fight actually happened. Check my posts buddy, you should except reality.
i used to think that hatton was a hype job... until i saw his fight last night. although he doesn't fully live up to the hype, he lives up to it just a little more than i thought
