Now that hatton and macklin have different trainers/promoters, as macks gone back with warren, who's hattons main man for sparring. It used to be macklin.Hatton loved the way if he stood toe to toe with macklin in sparring, he would'nt be able to push him back. Who takes his place now, is it his bro ???

Steve Forbes used to spar with him a lot.

He used Forbes for the Castillo fight, and previous ones - not sure which though.

Apparently Forbes handled him well but was troubled at times by Hatton's speed - which was evident in the Castillo fight. Forbes can be found but is great at covering up.

If he dropped to 140 he would be a serious threat to anyone IMO.

I was gonna say, i actually think he beats hatton, very impressed with how he handled dlh, he just was'nt big enough, but game, tough, great at avoiding stuff up close

I wouldn't say Forbes beats Hatton - he is good for the first couple of rounds then goes missing, as he did against Berto.

Hatton would outwork him down the stretch for a UD in a stinker - Forbes covers up better than given credit for, but wouldn't be able to back Hatton up.

He couldn't do it to Berto, who is weaker in the chin department than Hatton.

If you are fighting for a world title, then no you arn't going to pay a couple of grand and get someone in to spar with who is as good as your opponent, you just try to get someone who can hopefully do a reasonable imitation and/ or pose similar problems.

And Rob, you need to look up the meaning of the word "offensive"....'O)

Hatton dont really outwork anyone down the stretch these days.If he has'nt built up an early lead he aint doin much, just jab an grab after 7

Forbes is a very good partner if you are fighting Mayweather. He's not as strong or as hard a puncher, or as good on his feet, but his defensive shell is very similar. It's the exact same schooling, he's just far less talented.

Didn't help Hatton's horrible looking cheating ass in the ring though.
