He's always said Cotto is over-rated and would like to fight him. Personally, i reckon he'll just go straight back and fight Floyd Mayweather again, this time in the UK. He'll sell out a 60 thousand seat stadium no problem and do shitloads of PPVs, probably even more than the 1st time round.

I assume he was referring to Cotto while he was still at 140. He's a top bloke Hatton, but he don't half chat **** sometimes. Everyone knew Miguel was killing himself back then, which obviously dented his performances in the ring. I'm pretty sure if these two were to meet at 147, Cotto put Hatton through hell and give him a serious beat down.

I will be soooo pissed off if Floyd were to pick Hatton again. It'll be almost as bad as the JMM farce of a fight. It may well be a sell out fight, but the end result is obvious, and it will do nothing for Floyd's legacy, or the sport itself.

man he looked HUGE in that pic w/ ali. if he does come back...and i'm not saying he should...he should start hitting the gym now (not killing it in the gym but you know what i mean). if he starts cutting all that weight after a fight is signed he's gonna wind up on his back looking up again.

    trainer?? any word on that??

If Hatton would fight again, there is only one opponenet that is worthwhile fighting. The following requirements for that opponent have to be considered :

    1. he should not be a welterweight or heaver. - that eliminate hatton or PBF
    2. He should not be an obscure or not well known fighter - that eliminates Malignaggi or Juan Diaz
    3. It would have to add credibility to his resume - that eliminates Diaz, Malignaggi

    Which leaves us with WHO?

The obvious choice is JMM. If the fight happens, JMM by that time would already be 38 going 39, not exactly spring chicken in boxing years, plus the fact that JMM had trouble with a light-hitting swarmer Jaun Diaz. Marquez also has the recognition that Hatton desires, the P4P ranking, as well as a big enough fight to probably hang the gloves after.

All the other choices would not make sense. Mayweather is simply not winnable, Cotto is just too big, Pac would not even be a discussion with the way he was demolished, Malignaggi, although he would definitely win, would be for what, Juan Diaz is not exactly on the winning streak, the rest like kendall Holt, Bailey are simply not known nfighters.

**no way Hatton competes in the 140 tourney as for starters he might be unable to make 140, but I believe Ricky's ego is too big to bother fighting the likes of Bradley etc

as for Ricky can fight I'd say top 3 choices being

#1. Mayweather. Floyd has a reputation to pick on weaker opponents, making a Lightweight move up to fight him last time. Even though it's a worthless fight Hatton-Mayweather 2 could happen.

#2. JMM. both coming off a loss, could happen somewhere in between 140-147. Only reason being Marquez is Pound For Pound ranked and right now is probably the most winnable fight out of all the P4P fighters

#3. kind of a long shot cuz I agree on reasons stated above, but if the winner of Diaz/Malignaggi 2 wins decisively I could see that option for Hatton happening at +140. Unless we have another close fight/draw which could make a Diaz-Malignaggi trilogy

the other names like Bradley and Khan while solid at 140, don't bring enough to the table for Ricky at this point

which is why I see any of the #ered options as more likely to happen.

If Hatton wants to make a comeback then good for him. I'd like to see him in there against someone like Timothy Bradley or Juan Diaz (if he wins the rematch with Paulie Malignaggi) but I'm sure he'll probably take a warm up fight first.

So much **** talked about Ricky on here. Such disrespect for a decent fighter who did so much to bring interest back into the game. Always had interesting and exciting fights and was a very talented fighter, no matter what the people here say, those who decide their feelings about one of his fights before it's even happened!
He is a really, really decent lad. Kind, caring, funny, down to earth and completely friendly. He is about as far removed in personality from the superstar fighters like Floyd as is possible.
I just can't imagine what it is.

Hatton would get starched by JMM even at a 140+ catchweight.

Hatton should fight Witter another fighter on a downer it would be good as Witter will have closure and be the man that finishes Hatton for good.

The only return I want to see from hatton is my $50 back for losing to pacman in 6 minutes.

i would like to see him fight zab judah first, then amir kahn. if he wins both of them he could call out the loser of pac/mayweather and fight at webley as a last fight.
