This article furthers my suspicions that there two lies being told. One from Bob Arum and the other from Leonard Ellerbe. The lie from Arum is that there have been Negotiations in ernnest up to July 16th with all the details worked out. The lie from Elerbe is that there never was any Negotiations. I think it is pretty clear there was some talk with parties involved in the possible fight. I think the Negotiations more or less ended in June. I don't think Mayweather or Pacquiao were involved in the Negotiations. I don't think there was any agreement from both parties. I have the felling that the contract has a cut off date from 10-14 days. This may all be moot as It is likely that Mayweather is not planing to fight anyone for the rest of the year. I think a March-July Date is very likely for this fight.
If that was the case then why negotiate for a november fight in the first place? It's completely baffling at this point.
Floyd reeks of cowardice. Addressing the negotiations and not fighting him looks like a duck. Not addressing the negotiations at all is a ploy to save face and say "I wasn't even thinking about it" But that doesn't work when every journalist imaginable is calling emailing and texting you. Oh yeah, and another "hey, by the way" statement following a deadline? Any reasonable person can see floyd's interest in this fight is non-existent.
He could have said at ANYTIME there weren't any negotiations at all. After all, if there weren't any negotiations...then there could NOT be any gag order right?
Is Floyd Sr. playing the role of "Mick" from Rocky III (when referring to Clubber Lang): "He's gonna knock you ta tomorrow! Those other guys was bums. This guy is a killer!"
It won't change the result or public opinion. Floyd is a coward to almost everyone after this stunt, no matter who sticks up for him.
