http://www.thesweetscience.com/news/articles-frontpage/12967-a-note-on-rodriguez-wolakhauser Damn this sport can be tough and cruel at times "Danny Milano (one of the foremost cutmen in boxing) worked Rodriguez’s corner. He had a good view of the carnage as Rodriguez-Wolak unfolded. “The way it swelled up, it looked to me like the eye socket might have been damaged,” Milano said after the fight. “I wasn’t in Pawel’s corner. There were people who had a closer look at the eye than I did. But I think they should have stopped it. Pawel was still in the fight and he’s a warrior. But he took a horrible pounding on that eye. He might never be the same after tonight.” There’s a chance that, from now on, every time Wolak enters the ring, he will be an impaired fighter."
They def should have stopped it. No reason to have damage pile on and that's a guy who only can see out of one eye. Wolak was up by a point i think at that point as well. 15k each and David Haye got 15 Million.
Per twitter, Wolak's doctor said his eye was just swollen the next day but otherwise fine. The guy in Rodriguez' corner thinks the fight should've been stopped in his fighter's favor though? Say it aint so
15 K each, and no other TV exposure besides the fight itself. While you have air heads in Hollywood making millions to suck dick. Baseball, Football, Basketball, etc. players get millions doing jack **** compared to what boxers do. Society is so goddamn backwards. Boxers deserve millions night in night out while all these other sports players, air headed "celebrities" etc. deserve peanuts.
No, you're the backwards one. I don't care if I'm sitting outside my house playing a gazoo. If that action can generate $10's of millions, than I should get paid millions. If how physical your activity is determined your pay, a lot of people would just go out and do crazy **** to try to get a paycheck. What if I a setup a ring in my backyard and me and a friend of mine beat the absolute **** out of eachother with 4 oz. gloves? If turned around and sent the tape to HBO, should they pay me millions even if no one wanted to see it? It sucks that those two only got paid $15K, but they're doing it because they love to box and believe it could lead to a much bigger payday.
FNF is like AA or AAA in baseball. You can make enough to pay your bills and you are obviously pretty good, but you are only there to get to bigger and better things. That being said, it does seem low even for FNF. Realistically, if the rematch gets picked up by HBO or Sho they could each make 10 times that.
