I have been very vocal on this forum saying I believe Jones is shot to pieces and has no chance versus Calzaghe.

However, I don't like to just write off the greatest fighter of this generation and one of my all-time favourite fighters. You cannot dismiss Jones's talent, which he still has and can show in short bursts, like he does in these videos.

I would love Roy to win purely because I have always been a massive RJJ fan and it would be a magnificent end to a glorious career.

But my head still says Calzaghe. He has beaten top quality opponents recently, which Jones hasn't, and he will fight like a demon to preserve his excellent unbeaten record.

However, is it wrong to write off Roy on the evidence shown in these videos, or is he shot and without a realistic chance?

I'm not so sure anymore, but it may just be blind hope.

On that evidence there is no way that Jones is shot.

The best Jones has looked since the first Tarver fight was in the Third Tarver fight and that was only for 2 m inutes in the 5th round. The whole fight before and after he looked like ****. And in the fights after that he has faced much worse fighters then Tarver and he hasn't looked that good. Not aginst Prince Ajamu who is a journey men not against Hanshaw who is a prospect that was to small for 168 let alone 175 and Trinidad who was shot and shouldn't be fighting anywhere above 160 and he was off for 2+ years. ANd the 3rd Tarver fight was 3 years ago. Roy is done.
