I wonder how many boxers have suffered this type of brain damage.

One in particular that comes to mind is Benitez who was a defensive wizard ...just from my past conversations with him his mind was slipping a while back and getting loopy.

Arturo Gatti was getting very erratic as well...

At some point should the Boxing Commission step in and deny worn torn fighters a license ?

    Thoughts...?

The commision over in the UK flat out refused the notion of giving Frank Bruno a license recently.

Sometimes a simple conversation can give you more information than neurological study. I'm not specialist but from what I know brain morphology is extremely complex thus it is pretty hard to catch some of the early symptoms by just scanning. But a simple conversation with guys like Toney or Angulo will give you and idea that they are brain damaged.

I would be shocked if Jermain Taylor doesn't have CTE.

Is it what ex NFL athletes have? It leaves protein in your brain and makes it spongy?

It has become more common in the uk through rugby, they are trying to ban certain age groups from physical contact.

Concuss is common, but Bowe hit Holyfield in the chest so hard he busted a whole in his heart.

Mosley's starting to slur a lot lately !

I have a friend that ran into him recently and said he has to concentrate on trying to speak clearly.

Yeah, the BBC did some recent documentaries on it. NFL and NHL are the two big ones for it in the US, Professional wrestling has had a lot to do with it in recent years, Rugby too.
