Have any of Klitschko brothers made the top 20 ATG list?

Gomez was in the Ring top 10. Vitali has about 5 top 10 wins. However, Wlad has roughly double the amount at 10 or so.

In h2h fantasy match ups vitali performs very well.

But in reality he has done very little and lost to the best two fighters he faced.

Sanders, peter, arreola, williams. They're his only real noteworthy victories.

If he wouldn't have had them 4 years he could have beaten the likes of valuev, byrd, maskaev, ruiz, holyfield, toney, briggs, brewster, lyakhovic, rahman, mccline and many others.
But as it is, he didn't.

Gomez was ****. The word dominant gets overused with the klitschko's. Each has dominated their opponents but neither has dominated the division due to their mutual presence and run of tko losses.

Kevin Johnson & Juan Carlos Gomez were both top 5 when Vitali beat them. They were mandatory defenses so Vitali could keep the WBC belt. ;)

Vitali has passed Bruno & Witherspoon on any serious list :nono That's ridiculous. How long did either of them hold the WBC belt & how mant defenses did they have?

Tyson ranks higher than either Klitschko but Wladimir should be higher than Frazier.

Your opinion of Gomez is irrelevant, he was ranked in the top 10 when Vitali beat him.

You could make a good case for Wlad: 9 straight title defenses with 8 Kos. 6 Ring Ranked opponents, 5 Kos. 2 top 5 opponents, 2 kos.

whether they will be in top 10 still depends a lot on the end of their careers
who they beat, how long they continue fighting, and if they lose...

    If we're talking Heavyweights, yes.

    But only for Wladimir Klitschko.

Vitaly's 4 year hiatus hurt his legacy. In 2004 he was emerging as the best fighter based on his performances. But his quality of opposition pre-layoff wasn't any better than the opponents that Chris Byrd and John Ruiz was beating. Granted he's back and he has a good win over Peter and Arreola but frankly he's got at least 25 fighters ahead of him. I have him in my top 30 for now and that's being generous.

The top 10 seems out of reach for either of them especially since they won't fight each other. A splintered belt does no one any good. To have a shot at the top 10 at the very least one of them needs to become the undisputed champion. Not the triumvirate that the division has now.

There is a part of me that actually wants David Haye to beat Vitaly so that Wlad can exact his revenge on him later leading to the first unified and undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis back in 2000.

I hate having to tell my non-boxing fan but casual sports fan friends that "well the Klitschko brothers are the heavyweight champions and then there is David Haye.."

I'd rather tell them that Wladimir Klitschko is the heavyweight champion of the world.
    Or Vitaly Klitschko,
    Or David Haye.

As long as it's one guy.

It depends on how you make up your list. Is it based on resume? Is it based on H2H?

Everyone's resume can be either talked up or talked down. H2H is mostly fantasy stuff. Then trying to make a sensible assessment while their careers are still going is harder still.

I think you could probably have a sensible discussion about it 5 years after each one has retired.

Wladimir is Top 10, maybe Top 5 at the end of his career.
