How can he be ahead of Tyson with less succesfull title defenses, with less dominating fashion, against weaker competition?

Tyson would destroy mister egg chin in the first round

Who the **** made Kevin Johnson top-5 ranked? He had no good victories at the time, in fact he still dosent.

Also what top-5 you are talking about, he certainly wasn’t ring magazines, fight news or WBC top-5 list, at the time.

Juan Carlos Gomez was indeed top-5 in WBC rankings, but ring magazine didn’t have him up there. It’s kind of like saying that Odlanier Solis just take good victory, from top-1 ranked Ray Austin.

Kevin Johnson was #10 in the Ring Magazine in December of 2009 if I remember correctly.

  10. I don't believe any of them belong there, through no fault of their own.

Then again, I honestly believe that the majority of Wlad's opponents are beter than Joe Louis'

Yeah I remember it also he was tenth.

Not top-5 but number 10 and even that was bull****, he had no business being ranked that high.

Also Johnson wasnt mandatory defence, like Ruskull claims in his post

tyson plain and simple beat only bums, bruno, semi retired holmes, spinks, tubbs and tucker. they were not better then ibragimov, byrd, chagaev, thompson, brewster
berbick(****), thomas (****), Biggs (****), the rest was complete ****. and he was champion for how long? four years. THATS ALL. TYSON IS OVERRATED BECAUSE HE TRYD TO KO EVERYONE AND YOU ALL LOVED IT. THATS why you all overrate him. he lost to every real good fighter he met. holyfield and lewis and even bum buster douglas.

so yeah wladimir has longevity, is crazy dominant and knocks everyone out, too and let them look like amateurs.

Yeah yeah I know. Everyone was **** because Tyson beat them.

If he would have beaten Holyfield, Lewis and Bowe in 90ths, they would also be on your **** opponent list.

He destroyed his opponents too easily to get proper credit from you.

As for longevity he won 5 major championships and had 10 succesfull title defences in his career.

His Kickboxing career shouldn't really come into boxing discussions, except perhaps as a reason why he has had time off for injury or for speculation on how shopworn he might be.

If you were talking about boxers who were champs in other sports, boxers who may have succeeded in MMA, boxers who would win in street fights.... then again Vitali's kickboxing may be relevant.

But I can't see how it is relevant in this thread.

The problem is that once one of the brothers has beaten a fighter, they never seem to be the same again. Wlad beating Arreola and Gomez would mean very little, unless they reinvented themselves and put a string of wins together first. Arreola doesn't seem to be inclined to put in the effort, and I don't really know WTF is happening with Gomez.
If either of them dominated a legit top ten contender, then maybe it would mean a bit if Wlad beat them.

There are resume building fights out there. Adamek is one. The others are running scared.
