It's arguable for both sides nothing concrete. Many peeps here have him dropped down significantly because of tko6 but how many of you dropped Duran significantly from his ATG ranking because of tko2 with Hearns? When it's all said and done boxing history will appreciate today's fighter's like wlad, mayweather, pacquiao and Hopkins whom all dominated the sport for a long time.
Na, even without TKO6 there were the other questionable decisions Manny had vs Jmm. We all know Jmm is Manny's kryptonite, but his ascent back to the top beating the man who beat Jmm, Bradley, is pretty impressive, and IMO Manny's position as an atg hasn't been affected at all. He's back as if TKO6 never happened.
History will look fondly on Pacquiao, Hopkins, and Mayweather... Time is always needed for proper perspective.
Even yahoo's resident floyd's nut barnacle kevin lole says floyd will not make hof if he did not fight pac
Just remember KO by in 6. Lying there like a dead fish. Now where do you rank JMM. I think he should have gotten 4 wins vs. Pac. Instead he was a victim of 3 bad decisions. You got to put JMM ahead of Pac.
Iole's on his own there... The only bias I've read bleed through Iole's writing is very anti-Mayweather sentiment, equal to that of the vast majority of American boxing writers. They generally hate him and it's fun to read them try to stay neutral without their opinions getting in the way. For example Dan Raf has gotten slightly better about that over the past couple years, credit to him.
Both Pac and Floyd are ATG's. Without a shadow of a doubt. Let's be honest. Pac is way beyond his peak. Yet he makes easy work of today's top level, hungry fighters. To me, that's evidence of a truly great fighter.
He recently suffered a devistating KO, and then came back to win his world title back I cant think of many fighters in the history of the sport who suffered a KO as bad as that only to come back to win their world title back
Don't worry. In time boxing historians and fans will rightly see Pac somewhere around Top 20 ATG. A win over Floyd on Pac's resume will just be icing on the cake to his already legendary career.
