Yeah your sounding real smart comparing Jones beating John Ruiz who was a PAPER CHAMPION with what Fitzsimmons did by beating THE Heavyweight Champion of the World.

The two accomplishments are not even the same. Lennox Lewis was THE Heavyweight Champion not John Ruiz who by the way has 1 legit KO this entire DECADE. Wonder why Roy picked him and not one of the other beltholders?:lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl:patsch:patsch:patsch

No, he was electric in his prime

He was not the same fighter against Calzaghe or Green, but he was still quite decent with some good victories

Remember him when he got a version of the heavyweight title, beating John Ruiz. It was an amazing feat.

After that he should have retired, but boiled down and he wasn't the same fighter anymore

He is still an ATG, no question. yeah it puts the gloss off his ATg status but there's no doubt he is an ATG

No steroid using fighter should be considered an ATG ever,,
Its makes a complete mockery of the sport to celebrate drugs CHEAT as a part of boxings history.

How come no one else has come up to heavyweight and tried to win a belt then, since it's so easy? The heavyweight champions today are a lot worse than Ruiz and they're complete jokes.

Ruiz actually knocked Holyfield down in their fight.

No way at all in my book. The record stops once a fighter is clearly shot and any fights after that are considered exhibitions in my head.

His style depended on speed far too much to last into later years without him adapting it well, and he was never able to.

Ruiz is better than the Klitschko's? Or David Haye? Are you ****ing serious? Good lord you are a nuthugger.:lol::lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl:patsch:patsch

We need a 'Glass Jaw Roy Jones quote of the week' on here. You would win.

Lennox Lewis was THE Heavyweight Champion NOT John Ruiz.

no Ruiz isn't better than the Klitschko's but he's better than shitty David Haye..Haye is a horrible boxer. Look when the Klitchsko's are gone the division is gonna be even worse with ****en Arreola or Liakyovich or whoever is left I don't even know.

Why would Jones fight Lennox? That would be Spinks/Tyson all over again.

Actually Ruiz has a chance at beating ****** Wladimir. Wladimir isn't too good. Vitali would kill Ruiz.

You just said Ruiz was better than any of the Heavyweight Champions today which is absurd and delusional. Jones handpicked Ruiz like he did everyone else if he wanted to really make history he would have fought Lennox and not Ruiz. Jones is a Glass Jawed fraud. Period.

I actually forgot the Klitschko's were still champions I thought those Lyakovich miakovich rahman the white tyson or whatever were still champions.

Just goes to show you how boring and shitty the heavyweight division is, i don't even pay attention.

I agree though there should only be one belt in each division it gets too confusing trying to figure out who's still champ

He didn't handpick, that's your own bias opinion which can not be supported by any evidence. And he fought punchers. But his jaw as it is now, does raise questions. I have no IDEA how he survived B-HOP, Tarver in the first fight, how he survived Montel Griffin, how he survived big punchers in Merqui Sosa who was a huge puncher, Gonzales, Woods....and how he didn't get KO'd by Ruiz.... all of these I have no answer for. I am a big fan and I will admit he has to have a glass jaw now. He got KO'd in the first round by a guy who isn't that good apparently. At least Tarver beat beat good competition before Jones.

I just simply do not know how.

How was he able to take Ruiz big right hands in the 1st and 4th rounds? Ruiz has KD guys with much better chans then Jones... so confusing.

If he did have a glass jaw, surely he done even better than most to achieve all he did with it.

He got beaten when he was washed up.

Slightly washed up against Tarver, and Johnson.
Totally washed up against Calzaghe and Green.

Should Ali be taken of ATG lists because of his losses to Holmes and Berbick.

Should Julio Cesar Chavez be taken off ATG lists for his losses against Grover Wiley, and Willy Wise?

Should Holyfield have his status question because he lost to Valuev and Larry Donald?

Should Tysons career be disregarded because he got knocked out by Danny Williams and Kevin McBride?

Thomas Hearns got knocked out by Uriah Grant in the 2nd round. He must have been a poor fighter so!

Sugar Ray Robinson got beaten twice by Stan Harrington and some guy called Memo Ayon.Does this take away his greatest of all time status?

See where I'm going with this?
