Have to give huge respect to the only responsible man ringside last night - Eubank SR

I don't really buy that Eubank became a different fighter after the Watson win. He had no problems knocking out John Jarvis and Jose Barruetabena. I think his skills just eroded against higher level opposition

One-punch knockouts. When he put down Malinga, Close, Storey, Collins and Thompson, he just stood and posed instead of finishing properly. When Wharton was reeling, he was calling the ref in. etc.

  3. Farcical to say he was trying to protect Blackwell.

Jr was catching him clean repeatedly to the head and wasn't even close to stopping him. Sr wanted him to work the body as going to the head wasn't going to get the job done in terms of a stoppage.

    Yes misinterpretation for some pr.

Taken out of context. He wanted Jr to closr the show just in case the refs were biased.

He was landing clean shots to the head for 8 rounds without wobbling him, he told him to go to the body to "take him out". Nothing to do with protecting Blackwell.

Snr looked lost at the end of round 8. Said something like "I don't know what to tell you?!" to Jnr, as if a 'planned' stoppage attempt had failed. They knew Blackwell was not going to be KO'd, the refs intervention was the only hope. Part of a gameplan I guess.

People are reading too much into Snr's comments

Eubank is defiantly a man haunted by th Watson fight. But I did read his comments as an instruction to go to the body to tire out Blackwell.

Also the fight was stopped due to the eye closing. Everyone saying it should have been stopped earlier is right with hindsight but at the time Blackwell had a lot of blood from the first round when Eubank broke his nose but never looked like he was badly hurt or rocked . I don't blame his corner for not stopping it earlier - though having said all that it is clear the senior thought it should have been stopped several rounds before and he knows more an anyone
