Just a queston to see how many people here lost to someone who wasnt bettter then them but were just lucky to be the opponent when you made a mistake or didnt listen to the game plan etc? And how did you cope with it?
Happens, if its amateur don't bother about it just go out and get experience. Obviously will put you down but shouldnt be so serious
Yes. Well, I take losing with a grain of salt because I've beaten guys that were "better" than me before but had a hard time with my style, which is kind of wild. One time at a smoker they said the guy I would fight would be "about 140 lbs" and I figured, I'm 130 now, 5'8'', no problem, it was an unofficial "exhibition" night at my boxing gym and my friend was fighting too. The guy was a 6'2'' skinny black guy who had to be 154 (no weigh in). Then they didn't have same size gloves so I wore big fat 16 oz soft pillows I had on me and he had these little small hard training gloves on. Really unprofessional match up, load of bull. I think if I had been more prepared for the kind of night it was going to be I would have won, but as it is at the end of the second my nose was a bleeding mess from that range and I could tell my punches to the body were not having the effect his head punches were. I did have more experience and I should have won, but I wasn't psychologically prepared for an opponent with those kind of advantages and I got my ass handed to me. Not the first time I felt like I should have done better than I did - I am inconsistent, and recognize i always will be.
Yes ****ing loads of times. Train harder- fight better. Don't let it **** you off. Every dog has his day and everyone can and will be beat.
Holy crap that's messed up, I've had guys spar me with lighter gloves on and the impact makes a world of difference, they also have much faster hands and combine that with the weight/height difference you had... If I were you I would just go "screw you guys I'm going home" and walk out of the ring

Good advice. The only thing that gets to me (never fought) is sparring guys and maybe not doing as well as I could. But I put on a smile, and walked out happy instead of dwelling on any mistakes. I did come out and try my best TODAY. If I did other things, I would improve. EDIT: One thing I would hate is to get owned by someone newer or disrespectful. And I guess if you had a fight, and the opponent said shitty or insulting things, losing to someone like that would cause some anger. I try not to make anything personal...but I always want to get the other guy back.
I think every boxer has. My last fight I did. Hindsight is 20/20. But when you lose a fight you definitely know the difference between your opponent being more skilled than you or if it was because of your own deviations and mistakes.
definitley, my first few amatuer fights I let my nerves get to me, I worried more about the crowd than the opponent in front of me, then one day I just said I'm going to go out there and have fun with it, best fight I ever had
