I remember watching it live at the time, and Foreman won a hard fought scrap I thought, although it was a split decision. George did cut Lou over his eye, which got worse as the fight went on. After the fight, Lou did applaud George saying what a good and crafty fighter he was, especially considering his age. I remember Lou's corner saying before the fight that this may possibly be George's last fight. (Indicating that they thought Lou was going to beat George into retirement)
