I've never rated him much tbh.
Been saying for a long time that Wlad should be rated right next to him at least.

When I skimmed over the thread title and read what you wrote I really expected it to be about Jack Johnson or Muhammad Ali though.

people, what do you say,is wlad over the hill right now?
he didn't look good with pianetta, and he look really bad against povetkin.
i was shocked, and so did wlad looked to me,how easily was povetkin closing the distance???he looked like he had no choice than to hold.
and is also tragic that a guy with that much pro fights, and also a great amateur pedigree, gets in a panic mode when a guy puts in a combination,he just backs up in a straight line in panic, and stretches his arms like don't hit me.
his perfomance the other day got me wondering if povetkin closed the distance so easily, what would have done prime tyson, frazier, dempsey etc.??
if wlad didn't hold him,he would have been in serious problem.
povetkin looked so faster on his feet than wlad,i couldn't believe it.
hell i don't think he could beat samuel peter from the first fight the other day.
he threw his right hand rarely, and when he did,it wasn't sharp as he used to throw it,it was inaccurate and looked more like an arm punch.

He's 37 years old. He's been fighting professional since 1996. He's had 64 professional fights. Even though he hasn't taken much punishment, those years and all the training camps would be beginning to take their toll on his body, and possibly on his mind too.

I also believe, as SuzieQ mentioned in the general forum, he might be training himself down too fine, ie. coming in too light.
He looks like a Greek statue, Hercules or something, but it might not be optimal for him at this stage.

If you think that is comparable to Grabimir Klutchkos non- performance you need an Opthalmologist, I suggest President Assad.

Actually, I'd say Povetkin's probably more "over-the-hill" than Wladimir is.
I didn't think much of the fight when it was made, tbh.
Povetkin should have fought Wlad in 2008 or 2009. He hasn't looked good in years.

The fight showed Wlad and his team had no confidence in the ring against Povetkin.
