Right, he let him hit him. Right. I would buy that but... He never countered ANYTHING. That fight was strange and Bob Arum is a snake. You don't give a guy a purse doubling bonus for that crap performance.

Oscar was hitting FMJ. Oscar had one of the best jabs in the biz. He used it the first half of the fight until he got tired and/or anxious. Age will do that though.

Hopkins also looked HUGE compared to him!

I thought it was fake too until I saw the replay and watch the impact create a flesh tsunami across his torso. Boom! Ouch!

 @ Clottey being a worldwide star if he beats Pac. He would be forgotten & buried similar to Zahir Raheem.

Boxing has never been the cleanest sport. I truly believe this fight was a fix. I picked Pac to win a competitive fight, because Clottey is competitive with EVERYBODY. Your telling me a guy with his ability couldn't win atleast a few rounds? The fight was bull****.

Halgler in his last fight. Just stood there with the top of his head poking out of his ear muffs and letting SRL pitty pat him. Collected his payday and took his 33-year old, 70-fight body and headed to italy for a lucrative film career. He could've destroyed that version of Leonard if he'd wanted.

As for Oscar, I don't think the guy went in there planning to throw anything. He won the first couple of rounds, but Hopkins started finding his range and timing him, and he took advantage of an opportunity to bow out without taking the beatdown that was surely coming.

SRL has a lot of sketchy fights, doesn't he? Some of those Duran and Hagler wins seem to have been wrapped up in some weird stuff...

The fact that he beat Duran so easily the second time does make one wonder about the first fight. But I tend to take him at his word when he says he let Duran's mouth get him out of his gameplan. He tried to go in there and beat him at Duran's fight, instead of doing what he did best and just boxing circles around him.

IMO it was pretty obvious that Clottely was not performing to his usual standard against Pac or Margarito. His effort in the Cotto fight was higher but not that of a man who wants to win.

How much of Bob Arum's influence was there against his cash cows, I let you be the judge.

Even if clottely did beat Pac he would not have been a world wide star, not enough star potential there. Boxing skills are there yes but the man has no star potential or die hard fans who worship the ground he walks on.

P.S. I picked JC to win all three fights, because he was the superior boxer/tactian.

He was easily beating Margarito for 5-6 rds then stopped, Didnt throw shyte against Pac, and sprent too much time not letting his hands go against Cotto.

Bob Arum up to his usual tricks.

Oscar had to abandon his jab because Floyd was too damn smart. Whenever he wanted to pump the jab young $ may would close the distance a bit to render the jab useless, and then come over the top with rounder countering punches.

Mosley after the second round, seemed to be pulling his punches and telegraphing the punches he threw. As a co-promoter of GBP I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the back of his head that Pacquiao-Mayweather was too good a fight for him to be ruining by scoring the upset.
