whats sickening is that people here who are defending him saying he doesn't have anything else to prove and he's already done enough. I mean what kind of a boxing fan are you? I thought everyone would love to see the top dogs fight each other? If you love floyd so much wouldn't you want to watch him fight the top fighters of his era to strengthen his legacy? or are you afraid that he might lose once he steps in the ring with a top 5 welterweight?
do you see this people? floyd didn't just not fight the top welterweight, but he didn't even touch any of the top 10 that we have now! what makes this guy the reigning ww champ again?

How come Judah is a top 5 welter when he fights Cotto but not before when he fought Floyd.

Convince he that he hasn't fought top 10 or 5 WW as you say?

Hatton was ranked top 5 by the ring in the WW division ... so was Baldomir, who was considered the champ ... DLH was rated the number 1 SWW by the ring ... and Judah was a top 10 WW at the time they fought ...

All these guys were top 5 and top 10 ranked respectively and champions from 140-154 ...

What are you guys going to say once he faces Cotto and happens to be Cotto convincingly?

He's a ***** for not challenging Kelly Pavlik for the middleweight crown? ...

i agree he should be fighting cotto..but lets be realistic with this DLH fight..DLH is not a bum and he would beat all the ww except cotto, mosley and PBF right now..if DLH was able to still make 147 and fight a couple more fights there he would be a top 3-4 WW easy..so while PBF should be fightitng cotto DLH is no push over nor is this an easy fight..an to a degree he has done enough in the sport all that is left is to fight cotto but even after that people will still say its not enough and you know that

Why don't you watch this starting at about 1:50 and get some of this new school education

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=DR-u0B4QxmA&feature=related

Benitez (had to fight if he wanted a title)
Duran (money and fought him twice because he lost the first time)
Hearns (only when he became the biggest money fight; didn't fight again until late 80's)

Leonard was VERY calculating in regards to his career. If anyone thinks that he took on all challengers and didn't follow the risk-reward formula, then you're obviously younger than 25 years of age.

you know what, you're absolutely right. Leonard avoided hagler like the plague for years. And you're right some will never give him credit even if he beats cotto. But we've been waiting for too long after the zab fight, baldomir was the "champion" so floyd got a pass on that, then came dlh, then came hatton, then we have dlh again, then we have hatton one more time. I mean come on, enough is enough. I'm afriad that the cotto fight will fall through the cracks just like the margarito and mosley one.
where slr got to finally face hagler, we have floyd retiring on a dlh/hatton

That is supposed to prove you're point??

Leonard fought him in 81. they were both Prime and it's one of the best fights ever. leonard fought like 15 fights from 79-81 that's Benitez, Duran Twice and Hearns in that mix. The only legitimate ducking claims are after that point. SRL did push out the rematch but damage suffered to his retina.

SRL didnt duck Hearns the first time. Like I said take you're new school books and go get some old school glasses:good

Oh yeah he TKO'd good ol floyd Sr in 78 just like SRL would do to Junior:good:yep

SRR and SRL are the #1 and #2 WW's ever and NEITHER MAN DUCKED ANYONE AT 147:nono

    :yikes :yikes
