[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1y8xSUAFQs[/ame] "I don't think I've seen a talent as complete as this in his first professional fight ever" - Steve Holdsworth. Larry 'The Natural' Ekundayo TKO3 Ben Deghani from Spencer Fearon's Hard Knocks Boxing Promotions' show on March 19 at the Troxy.
He looked very good, although his opponent doesn't look up to much, but nether-the-less a good performance. Put his shots together well, using good variety. Nice finish, leading with the hook and the straight left to get his man going. I'm suitably impressed.
Always hard to tell against these sort of opponents but I liked the look of these 2 brothers from Saturday night. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEeaRPhseqo[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-P2D04fpSM&feature=relmfu[/ame]
I first saw Larry in sparring over a year ago and he already looked extremely poised and polished. "The Natural" is an extremely apt moniker for this guy.
think he'd boxed amateur to a decent standard in nigeria and managed to enter the UK, but has had immigration problems.these have now been sorted, hence his late age for turning pro
This is right. Been living here for years but only just got his passport. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdIu9jHOFqQ[/ame]
ha ha grea debut! hopefully gets some undercards and maybe a prize fighter spot to make up for the late pro debut!
Looked very good apart from those arm punches at the end. The technique on those shots was poor and really pushing and palming the shots. But that is the last 5 seconds, everything else looked really good. He could have used his jab more, but he mixed up head and body, threw Naz style corkscrew uppercuts but with a more solid and conventional guard and stance, looked to have a really good judge of range and very nice movement at the waist when slipping shots. Pity he is 29, it would have been nice for him to turn pro at say 25 even. Will definitely be interested in watching his progress.
He will fight often and be moved quickly. Spencer knows there's no time to waste or any point padding his record. Hopefully he'll be 5-0 by end of this year and then will look to step up to title class.
