Having a SBO show with the main event also shown delayed on ITV

    The big complaint about our sport is that it is marginalised, and PPV is giving as one example.

    Using the Khan Newcastle bill on 5/12 as an example. Say the main event is on at 10.00pm and those who pay the £14.63 get the whole undercard, build up, main event, interview & tonnes of analysis.

    But the main event is also shown the delayed on the same night on ITV for free. ITV would buy the sub-rights off Sky and broadcast it at say 10.30pm with ring walk, fight and post fight interview only. In between each round there would be about 5 minutes of adverts in order to fund it. Part of the deal would be that ITV would advertise the PPV.

    Sky would probably get even more buys for the PPV with the extra marketing on ITV, and the average punter retains in interest in the sport through the exposure.

    Absolutely ridiculous idea. NOBODY would buy the PPV if they could see it live on ITV the same night.

    People go to Boxing shows for the main event, people buy PPV's to see the main event. If they can see it on a slight delay for free, there is no way they buy the PPV.

    Just a bizarre idea. Sorry, colin but it just makes no sense.

    This. Bizzare idea that showing an event on a slight delay on free tv would increase PPV buys :nut

    They would need to have a cracking undercard for people to pay for ppv when they could see main event for free on the same night
