chavez fights more like cotto, he had to get close to set punches up, margarito will punch you anywhere just to punch.

all those guys mentioned Whitaker, Leonard, Ali, they all knew how to throw with leverage and could get some power behind their shots when needed. yeah they had great footwork and used the angles fighting while going backwards but if they didnt have any oomph in their punches then their opp. wouldve chased them down like marg did cotto you can have all the footwork in the world but youve got to let the other guy know your gonna hit him back and make him think about chasing you full speed. some boxers just seem to have no feeling of pain like punches dont hurt them people like mccall and margarito. floyd would have a nasty night in the ring with margarito he would be more uncomfortable than ever before and i dont think it would be a wide u.d. if they fought i am not even sure floyd would win. i think he would do what castillo and augustas couldnt finish

Oscar fought some good fighters i mean if he wants to retire with a loss or more money? he is going to take the money i think margo would either stop him or win a wide UD if oscar beat margo tho it would put him above PBF to me but he wont take the fight... rematch Margo in close fight i thought he has williams hurt alot in the 1st fight..i think the 1st fight with margo is why williams lost to quantana i think it took alot out of him

I don't remember the fight fully but I do think Chavez was a bit bewildered by the punches he was getting hit with.

And like it or not Chavez came up in weight. The welterweights are a little bit bigger than the jrs. Whitaker might not have a reputation as a puncher but he may have hit Chavez hard enough to get his respect. Nothing else really makes sense.

He doesnt have to hit as hard as cotto. He hits hard enough, there is a reason why guys just dont walk through Floyd. Marg is not that good at cutting off the ring, plus cotto was able to get away from him rather easy during the early rds. cotto in that fight also made no attempt to clinch when he was trapped somethin pbf does well.

good post i really honestly think the reason he didn't take the fight before the oscar fight was i dont think HIS hands could take a fight after the margo fight (if it had happened) so the oscar fight would never happen and thats even if he won it....Cherry picking at it's best and I honestly would do the same damn thing :) man i would walk right around Margo :) now if i was floyd now i would fight him he got a ton of money now go ahead and test ur skills you say you better then SSR and ALI lets see :p

I know, AT1 is talking some dumb ****. Margarito can throw a lot of punches but if somebody just makes him miss his shots completely and making him swing at air he will eventually get tired. He may win a few rounds from Floyd playing the Ok Doke. This is the reason why fighters are not trainers and usually cant call a fight for ****. Or they all would be making bank at the bookies.

margo would be best fighter he faced and its hard to clinch someone that much taller than you throwing that many punches at you and he did try to clinch he was getting hit margo would crush everyone floyd faced all floyds big wins would be crushed by margo **** Cotto crushed most of PBFs big wins look at boxrec compare and yes styles make fight and MARGO has a the best style for a PBF fight i said the winner of this fight would give floyd the hardest fight..

Pbf hits harder than Pea so i fail to realize why you mention this leveage thing. The point i was getting at is that someone is saying power gives you space. But Pea didnt hit that hard so footwork has to count for something.
