Having boxed FLOYD and OSCAR.... i will say this about Margorito

You guys are never gonna get it, are you. Sure Cotto was spent, sure he was beat up. But if the situations were reversed, and Margarito was on the end of that beating, you think he would have hit the canvas. I don't think so. Chin strength was a key factor in this fight, and in Cotto's loss. Not the only factor, to be sure, but an important one.

 

Void was smart when he refused to fight Margarito.

 

I doubt Zavy or this guy have ever been in a ring.
If they had they would know that it's a combination of everything and not just one thing. Power creates alot. Makes you try to avoid something only to be hit with something else. I'm sure Floyd knows this.
Floyd does everything pretty damn well but if either of you think that fancy footwork will win Floyd this fight, you'd better think again.
Delahoya gave Floyd his hardest fight in my opinion. Multiply Delahoyas pressure times 10 and you have Margarito who I seriously doubt that Oscar would want to face.
As a long time Delahoya fan, I really don;t want to see Oscar face Margarito. I feel Delahoya would be mangled somewhere after the 5th round and in shorter fashion than Cotto.
Nino LaRocca had some of the best footwork I had seen along with very good boxing skills. Donald Curry walked him down and took him out.
I wonder if we asked LaRocca about Currys power and relentless attack, what he would say? You think he might say that " I thought my footwork would get me past his power and agression"
We should ask Zab Judah what happened with Baldomir when Zab was boxing so beautifully before being walked down and caught.

Margarito is unlike ANYONE Floyd will ever face, as The Messenger has stated.
It would be a 12 round marathon with Floyd running more than in any fight he's ever had.
Floyd ducked Margarito for a reason.

 

Well he couldnt get space because he doesnt have that type of footwork. I mean even shane was catching him when he went backwards. cotto is not even use to fighting that type of fight and it showed by his actions on the ropes. Not clinching to break rythm and get out of trouble. Also where was the body work? His bread and butter

 

The way to do it is speed, movement and boxing. In order to do that you have to do a ton of roadwork and have the legs and lungs to be sticking and moving for 12rds. Classic demonstrations were Leanord vs Hagler, Pep vs Saddler, and Ali vs Liston also Tunney vs Dempsey. It used to be the blueprint used by Ali but in todays flat footed world no one fights in the Ali style that so many did in the 70's an 80's

 

Margarito vs Oscar is what the public will want ..Im sure Arum and Oscar already talked about it .

 

I didn't see that...if that was the case, it would have been a clean Ko...Margo just broke him down physically and mentally...he was dead tired...the pressure did him in. No shots to the chin at all!

were completely ****ed up...Floyd won UD in anyones eyes who knows

Oh I got to save this post. No shot to the chins at all. It was pressure that did him in. :rofl :rofl :rofl Margo was just leaning on him all night and Cotto went to a knee.

I have been in the ring before but that is irrelevant. Its not just about Pbf's footwork. Factor in his Defense, poise under pressure, ring intelligence,ability not to take shots flush and his CHIN( SOMETHING PEOPLE ARE UNDERESTIMATING). Power is not the end all be all. Factor in everything else and i dont think Marg can beat Floyd
