If you criticized Kabayel's resume - who you have gushed over in previous posts - to the same extent that you do Parker's you will find the same pitfalls. Taken as a whole Parker is a more proven opponent between the two.

You won't just find the same pitfalls with Kabayel's - you'll find it's far, far thinner.

If you wanted to be uncharitable to Kabayel he's only got two good-ish wins - an ancient Zhang (who's good but was never all that) and a disinterested Chisora... Beyond that it's overhyped prospects and journeymen.

Oh, and that's far more charitable than saying Parker's overhyped for beating a slightly less old Zhang, 12-0ing Wilder (who's limited but was dominated so thoroughly he couldn't really throw anything), etc....

The biggest differences are that Parker has better highlights AND way more depth.

I agree with your post as it relates to Parker but I would also contend Kabayel is Top 5 for me right now.

The nature of his wins - 3 KO's - is what is impressive and overrides the quality of opponent. Makhmudov and Sanchez were hyped prospects but Zhang is legit and they were all put away regardless in asthetically pleasing fashion.

As we both agree on, Parker is more proven at the higher level. That being said I wouldn't bet money on either of them winning in a hypothetical match up. Styles make fights. But I think Parker asks more questions of Kabayel than Kabayel asks of Parker.

 

Possibly. Any guy that big and string throwing haymakers at someone always has a chance to ko an opponent.

Was starting to worry a bit for parker after that first round. Looked like bakole had the potential to cause him problems imo.

Not that much to take from the fight in the end. Free pass for bakole under the circumstances although the only bad look being he always did look slightly vulnerable to someone that threw big with his slow footspeed and pretty static style.

Which ended up happening regardless of the circumstances. Now down to bakole....to prove us wrong now.
