    Biggest con going?

Just seen that estimates for the Peterson v Matthysse attendance currently stand around 3k.

Could you imagine that fight in the UK? You'd do 10,000 easy.

What is with boxing and its fascination with America?

The sooner boxing becomes a truly global sport and gives up on trying to win over American's the better for us all. Might force the likes of Ward and Mayweather to take fights they won't like abroad rather than hiding at home.

It is stuipid nothing more.Top European fighters are bigger stars here than most american fighters in the USA.
3-4K People in big events? Bad very bad! We even have that many in some regional events in germany. Boxing still is bigger in the States. But it is not like in the past where fighters HAD to go there to make money.

Of course you don't have to go to America to be a star, boxing a global sport and you can be a star and make great money and not have to go there. I do think some of us outside the USA also need to remember that the majority of the major money in the sport is still to be made in the states, and whilst that remains the case the majority of the top fighters will need to head there.

Of course there exceptions to every rule, i believe a Ward vs Froch rematch quite comfortably makes more money in the UK than it does in the States, Wlad and Vitali make great money in Germany and don't need to travel, even if the Americans wanted to watch them.

To expect someone like Mayweather to travel outside Nevada never mind the US though is pretty crazy IMO, it won't happen and I don't see why it needs to.

Even Price-Harrison a domestic mismatch at the echo arena sold 8-9k tickets, are american fight fans harder to win over?

    Because America is the best.

We have Hollywood, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods. We have Bed Bath and Beyond, We have the strongest Military, etc....

We Have Al Pacino, We have Elvis, We have Robert De Niro, We have Marlon Brando etc...

We have Vivid entertainment, hustler magazine, playboy, Baywatch babes, miss universe, we got Bill Gates, we got Apple etc....

How can you compete with that?

The vast majority of the top fighters in the world are either American or are based/fight in America.

    Floyd,Pac, Canelo, GGG,Martinez,Hopkins, Bradley,Broner, Donaire, Rigo,Gamboa,Mikey/Danny Garcia,Mares,Ward,Dawson.

ALL fight out of America...If you can make a career in your division without fighting those guys, then good luck to you.

The biggest fights still take place in Vegas, NY,Texas, NJ,CT and California.

They all need to stop coming here to make our US $$$$ to bring it back to their country to feed their people. I'm an American citizen and you're an American citizen.

Since when is Golovkin based in he states? He lives in Stuttgart... Fights in different places and also said he wants to have fights in germany. Especially against Sturm. Would be the biggest fight he had until now. Sturm-Golovkin would top everything he had in the States.

Also most of the fighters you named fight in small ass events. 4K people watching these fighters. The biggest fights take place? How? I only see Mayweather or Canelo as big fights/events. The rest fights in small ass arenas in front of 5K people (if you are lucky). How many people are watching boxing in the states? It are 5-14 million in germany.
And many guys you named fight in the light divisions. Not many european fight there anyway.
It is how it is. No top european fighter "needs" to make it in the states.

    Exactly.

Most of the fighters named would make a lot more money fighting outside of the States but I guess they'd need to know that countries outside of America actually exist before they'd consider doing that.

In terms of live gates the US clearly falls behind Europe, but if you want to make crazy amounts of money which every fighter would want then making it in America is vital. Sure you can still make excellent money fighting in Europe but name another market apart from the US where you can sell over a million PPV's and generate that much income.

All the biggest earners fight in the US, Pac and Mayweather being the top 2. So every fighter should aim to break the US market if there are american boxing stars in their division like the Klitschko's tried to do earlier on in their careers. But if you fight in a division where there are no big American based names then there is no point as you will make more cash fighting in front of a home crowd.

Not a wiz with the biz side of how much they all get paid

but Networks like HBO and SHO require coming to the US to become big, and by doing that you become big enough to headline one of their PPV cards thus making lots of money
