Skysports News HD will start their coverage from 9:45 PM GERMAN TIME so about three and a half hours. They'll show Krasniqi/Kashtanov and Cukur/Shkarupa.

    Emre Cukur vs Roman Shkarupa
    R1: 9-10

Clear round for Shkrupa, higher work rate, also landed more.

Roman Shkarup is a tough guy and looked pretty durable, when he faced Lolenga Mock in October 2017. He had some good bodypunches in that fight and usually saved his energy for the last half of each round and was strong in all 10 rounds. He is a bit slow due to his age, but I don’t think he will be stopped.

I don’t know much about Emre Cukur, as I haven’t seen him in action. This is his first 12-rounder, as he only tried two 8-rounders, that went the distance.

I smell an upset victory for Shkarup, possibly a stoppage. If Cukur is tough, he will win on points, but this is a very tough task for him this early in his career.

    Emre Cukur vs Roman Shkarupa
    R1: 9-10
    R2: 10-9

Better round from Cukur. He worked the jab more accurate and started to throw some nice combinations. He has fast hands but he has to move a bit more.

Not to spawn a politically incorrect shitstorm or anything but just a stray observation: Germany seems to be the most cuckolded nation in the sport. Like, think of any top German boxer in the last few decades. Almost invariably they are 1st- or at most 2nd-generation imports from elsewhere. Ottke and Maske (and maybe Brähmer) aside, there's virtually null in terms of modern homegrown talent for anybody to feel any nationalistic pride in, the way Americans rally behind, say, Tim Bradley, or Brits for Hatton, or Filipinos for Pac.

Looking at the current German p4p and divisional rankings: Abraham is Armenian, so is Murat, so is Gevor; Huck is a Serb, so is Isufi; Charr is Lebanese-Syrian; Dimitrenko's from Russia; Culcay is Ecuadorian; Arslan is a Turk, so is Kabayel; etc.

For no other nation is this anywhere near as true as with Germany, and has been the case for decades now. And they have such a proud tradition in the sport, historically, for the bulk of the previous century (Schmeling, on through Scholz, and even Mildeberger - but I suppose for the sake of this conversation excluding the Rochiggianis, since they were of Italian derivation? Or were they more than a generation or two Germanized?)

Just seems really weird how such a culturally dominant & industrialized country that has a thriving boxing scene isn't able to produce a single homegrown "ethnically German" boxer to break through and reach world level, for so long.
