Cukur looks gassed but won the round with a solid first half. He is still landing nothing special.

Doesn't explain the UK, though. Just as economically stable/1st world as Germany or the US.

And the African-American boxers have still at least been ensconced here for a couple of centuries - many generations removed. There's a difference between Sharif Bogere being an Ugandan of the Bantu tribe who resides in the US, or Ola Afolabi being a Briton born to Nigerian immigrant parents - and say, Stevie 2lb Forbes, whose family has been in the United States for so long (and is intermingled with Native American and Caucasian ancestry) that he, per a recent social media post, can't even reliably trace his roots back to a specific African tribe without using one of those DNA analyzers. Guys like Afolabi (a 2nd-gen Nigerian born in Britain), or like Manuel Charr born in Beirut but then naturalized as a German citizen), are closer to the Bogere end of the spectrum than the Forbes end.

Shkarupa is slowing down in terms of activity. Both men looking gassed but Cukur is doing more now. He is also defending well.

Basically this isn't something anybody is going to answer with a single pithy paragraph, so don't bother trying. :sisi1

It's a weird, complex issue with a very murky and perhaps unknowable answer comprised of many variables.

Reducing it to "comfortable lifestyles" doesn't work.

What a weak last round from Cukur who should have knew that he needed the round badly. He ran away for the last 30 seconds like he has this in the bag. Disgusting. I really hope Shkarupa gonna take this!!!

Fair to say Jack Johnson had a slightly tougher time than, say, Deontay Wilder, though..

I have to be honest with you, after round 5, I don’t really agree with many of your rounds. I think it was really close and especially in Germany, I think it’s almost a certainty Çukur wins but who knows Shkarupa definitely put in a game performance

UK is definitely a very interesting and rather unique case (along with Japan). They alone out of the Western countries tend to produce champions regularly that aren't minorities/immigrants.

There's multiple factors really, UK boxers also tend to come from poorer backgrounds (even the white guys), boxing is just a huge part of British culture, also, Britain is just a very sporty nation that encourages participation.

Of course, but he was never actually subjugated. Words matter, and it devalues the pain and suffering of all those people who were actually subjugated.
