Haye called Thompson a bum back then and Haye said Wlad should stop hiding against "mandatory bums".

If you read back all the crap Haye said to himself he would feel ashamed.

and it would be light years more acceptable for Haye to be defending his belt vs Thompson than an old, never was, piece of **** like Audley. Gaye's lack of balls is what's funny here but you're apparently to stupid to grasp that. Tony's too good to be a sparring partner and could realisticlly have a good shot at beating Gaye and taking his paper title but Gaye, being the coward he is, is fighting Audley.

Well then it’s weird to insult Haye for level of his sparring partner.

    Yeah. Well **** you too.

Tony would have minimal change against him and that’s why he is only a champs sparring partner. But I agree that he could pose more challenge than Audley.

At least he didn’t pick unknown Chicobum, like that other belt holder from Russia did.

    Yeah.

Basicly Thompson wouldnt stand a change against Haye. Thats why he is champs sparring partner not the champion

They are all born and raised in Soviet Union, so whats the difference?

    Wrong. I meant Dereck Chisora

He is doing it to earn money, while waiting his negotiation with Wlad to succeed.

Yeah he is taking chess to different level with tying Chisora with three rematch contracts and failing to negotiate all meaninfull matches because money/contract issues.

how the ff is he better than audley!

How many olympic golds did thompson win?
How often was thompson declared the future of the heavyweight division?

Audley lost his focus and his drive in the middle of his career.
But its back now. Making him one dangerous mofo.

Having said that i still think haye will win. But to say thompson is a better opponent than haye is laughable

hate it when any boxer is called a coward. I dont like haye and ive trashed him non stop for taking this fight.

But would YOU fight a 6 foot 5 18 stone hungry former olympic gold medalist? Id think bout that before i call any fighter a coward again.

Audley dangerous? You're kidding right. Audley is as dangerous as a wet paper bag blown through the ring.

    agreed
heayweight division is so bad, that a 40 year old tony thompson is talked about like a modern day ron lyle, jerry quarry, earnie shavers type contender......thompson at 40 years old has done pretty much NOTHING his entire boxing career......other than get a shot at wlad and lose

Actually, Tony Thompson is a legit top-10 heavy, or at least top 15 at this point. A lot of top 10 fighters won't spar against someone else close to them in the rankings. Thompson is not a bad fighter, and not a bad choice to spar against. I think he likely loses by decision in an actual fight against Haye, but it would be closer than many people think.

I usually root against David Haye, but I'm somewhat impressed he picked Thompson as a sparring partner. It may be a statement about the division, but nevertheless, Tony Thompson is a legit contender. No worse than a lot of other choices, anyway.
