Hello everyone! I was latley wondering how similar are hay with ali from his begenings, the same height, reach, weight... and all this cocky talking about how he will smash his opponents and clean the division... Personally i am happy he will move up to heavies cos it will bring excitment... How do you think he will make against Ali from for example 1964 when Ali fought Liston? Ali was already very good heavy but still on his way to the top, similar to the situation of Haye, now.... Regards!
Haye's eyes both badly swollen by the seventh round, mercy stoppage not soon after after a knockdown or two.
You're going to get a lot of flame for asking this.:rofl Anyway, I'll try to answer in level headed honesty: Despite our tendancies to hold fighters from the past in higher regard, I think Ali would still be too good for Haye. It could be a stylistic nightmare for David, his best attribute is his power and speed, but Ali had superb reflexes at this stage of his career so not many shots would land and his chin would probably be able to take any that did. As for Ali on the attack, I think Haye would be in trouble - he looked very sharp in his last outing but until I see him in with Heavyweights I'm not convinced of his defense, I think Ali would land far too many shots and the ref would have to stop the fight.
Alis athleticisim (speed, power, dancing) would neutralise anything Haye had to offer (power, better than average speed).. It might be competative at times, but Ali could take the shots and outbox Haye and with the pretty good power he has combined with the average chin of Haye, TKO 8 With Hayes hands being so low, he could land the lead right or flick the left jab at will.
Sorry..... This is my first post in this forum ever... I was just curious cos Haye really reminds me young Ali.... maybe that kind of question should be put after David foight in heavy let's say in 2009. that's why i pick Ali ' 64 rather than prime Ali '67....But hey!!! That's only a question and as a novice I would like to know Your point of view.... Don't put flame on me.........
NO COMPARRISON................. ATG v Fledgling new cruiser champ who lost to an old british linier cruiser champ a few years back.. by KO.. He would struggle v one of todays heavys and Ali is way light years above any of them.. Its like a skoda v a Lambourgini.. Terrible thread i am afraid.. And i think the starter knows it and is taking the ****..
I forgot... I am really novice here, but haye speed and power really impress me..... And why really everybody talking about haye's weak chin... We are still unsure, that's it. There is still no real proof of that, right? The only time he got ko it was rather cos he run of of gas then weak fragile chin......... Regards..........
I also wonder how Haye would do against an incoming freighttrain at 50 mph, a nuclear explosion or an incoming meteorite. I give hime atleast 60% chance of winning. Haye is the next best thing because eehh, well because he fights out of Britain so absolutely no hype whatever...
Well since you're new to the forum, i'll explain. You cannot make a thread about an active fighter vs a retired fighter. The retired fighter always wins no matter what, because human psychology tells you about "the good old days", how Ali was invincible, etc. Of course it will not tell you that Ali was nearly knocked out by 180lbs Cooper, had a very close fight with Doug Jones, etc. As for Haye having a weak chin, Norton having a glass chin never stopped him from giving Ali hell in three fights (though Ali was past his best in those). That said, i would pick Ali. But i don't think it'd be the walkover that many here think it would be. So, ask again in 20 years.
if a Carl Thompson could knock David Haye out, so can Jean Marc Mormeck, or not?? You cant always make that comparison dude.
