Good weight for David. Personally I don't ever want to see his stray much over 220. 225 is OK, but anything higher look for him to noticably drop off.
I agree -- the weight is ideal for David. You can't expect an guy that's in his kind of condition to put on 30 quality pounds within a few months -- that's impossible while maintaining low bodyfat. He's a boxer, not a bodybuilder. 225 is also my maximum "acceptable" weight suggestion for Haye, and only once he gets a few years older. 215 to 220 should be ideal for him now. An in shape, 215lb heavyweight should cut down 240lb lumbering, lard butted ones pretty quickly. Maybe the first punch won't do it, but the 4th unanswered one in a row will!! ;-) The man is obviously serious about making a quality title run -- kudos to David Haye.
Ali was 6'3 and weighed around 210-215 for his fights. Not comparing Haye to Ali, but just to point out that Haye isnt an undersized HW. He is comparable to most guys in the division. Even right now with so many big men, he is about about average size for a HW. I just am interested to see how his chin will hold up. I really dont think he will be able to get away with the low left cocked right guard. He needs to have a proper guard.
After seeing some of the bloated pumped up pics and hearing him talking about weighing 233 i was expecting him to probably bulk more than he should. It seems he really meant it when he said that he intends to keep every bit of his speed.
