Haye admits he can't take a good punch, and has to be careful against punchers like Carl Thompson. And he is hoping to pick a Heavyweight nobody with little power to fight in Kevin Johnson.

'If you rush at a quality fighter the way he did against Prescott and I did against Carl Thompson, I can guarantee you'll either get quickly sparked out like Khan or stopped like I was. Amir Khan will never be able to trade on his toughness because his chin's not that good. I've had to realise that same thing. I'm not tough enough to do that. He's not tough enough. He's a good boxer with great speed, timing, reflexes and punch variation, but he's not Marvin Hagler. I'm not Marvin Hagler. If you're not Marvin Hagler why try fighting like him?

Fair enough, intelligent fighter to admit and know his weaknesses which means he'll work harder at his defence and other skills

    Good comments.

I think he's right. His chin is a definite weakness, but it won't let him down like it will always let Khan down. Haye's chin won't stand up against a powerful heavyweight, if he's taking clean punches, but it's good enough to work around. Like Tommy Hearns' chin. His was weak, yet he only got stopped four times.

Khan's chin is glass and cannot be worked around. He will be knocked out by every above average puncher he ever faces.

Haye has taken good punches, but will have to work around this weakness if he's going to make it to the top in the heavyweight dvision.

Haye has never felt Heavyweight power. Major difference between getting hit by guys like Mock, or Mormeck and 240 lbs heavyweight punchers.

Gotta respect his honesty and his acknowledgement of his own limitations.

Haye is changing his tune. He talked so much trash for months, now that there is pressure on him to pick an opponent for a quickly approaching fight. Suddenly he is getting pretty quite.

I think Haye seen what happend to Khan, and he realizes that could easily happen to him in one punch ( one mistake) at Heavyweight. I think Haye is pretty worried about getting hit at HW.

Haye is no Khan. Khans chin is something special in terms of weakness. Haye might not have a great chin but its not on Khans level.

We haven't seen Haye against a real Heavyweight yet. I will leave out Bonin because he is bum with biggest padded record I have ever seen. Bonin has never beaten a good fighter, he has only fought two good fighters and lost both times.

How would Haye's chin withstand a solid punch from a Heavyweight power puncher? Disasterous!

No he hasn't changed his tune........its what many (british) lot have been saying for AGES!!!!!!

He just acts big for american tv and interviews and too right if it means more exposure and money into his fights....thats being smart whether you like it or hate it.

Haye seems quality anytime he is on british tv and has good opiniated views...fans will do well to remember this for next time, when he does say something in an american interview.
